| Still think sticking the away fans into the bit closest to the sewage works and calling it the sh*t end could work. I'm sure both clubs would agree on that.
I imagine most grounds were built without stand names originally. Most are something that comes with history, named after great players and such.

| Quote ="eccles star"Karlos13 you seem to forget that we are only leasing the stadium as are sale so at the end of day sale are renting like us so I would think they have just as much right to name stands. Also allowing them to use club shop and set there own prices. I might give watching sale a chance as I don't just follow rugby league I love sport in general even though rugby league is favourite. I am going off rugby league slowly as there dont seem to change and are ruining our good game the Rfl.'"
I don't think Karlos, or any of the rest of us, have forgotten that we're only tenants. In fact, it's half the issue. But if you'd rather spend your money on Sale than Salford then go for it. Makes a bit of a mockery of your claims you'd rather spend the money on a family holiday, though. Seems you were just looking for an excuse to switch codes.
And I still say you'd be better off buying a dictionary with the cash, especially over watching Sale.

| Anyone know if it is stadium or club policy to charge a 10% booking fee on tickets ordered online for Salford games? There is no booking fee for Sale games.

I cannot answer your question but someone naming himself/herself Grumpy Old Shark posted the following at 11.27 yesterday - [iI also experienced a problem with ticketing ~ I wanted to get a couple of extra tickets for my daughter and a friend so tried to purchase them on-line on Thursday evening but the site was not working despite numerous attempts, so I went to SCS on Friday morning and was rather suprprised to be charged a booking fee even though I was there in person paying with cash??? - if the actual price is £22 please dont say it's £20 then charge a £2 additional fee ~ it annoys customers![/i
The Sale fans do seem to have embraced the change of venue with the best of intentions;some travel some distance for their home games and there is a distinct lack of vitriol for those who keep the club solvent despite being uprooted and their lack of success on the field more recently.
Makes a refreshing change - as a television advert for a cider drink once said.

| Have Sale now switched to your ticket sale provider?? Their e-ticketing link no longer seems to work.

I believe ticketline charge 10% handling fee. The club basically has to choose either to absorb that and lose 10%, or pass that on to the fans.
It does seem odd that a Sale fan claimed to have to pay a booking fee in person. Maybe that's a leftover from them using a system other than the stadium's ticketline based one.

Leinster was sold through e-ticketing they've now switch to ticketline for their Aviva premiership games.

well the last home game it was £2.00 a pint and then for the two hours before kick off £2.50 which is £10.00 for 4 pints for people who have trouble with their maths, you know who you are. Plus that was for all types of ale.

| There was only John Smiths though wasn't there? And I wouldn't really class that as a real ale. It'd be great if the club could get a local brewer in, i.e. Holts - can't see it happening though.

There has been no ale on sale for Salford games, just some poor excuse for "beer".

According to the Stadium Company, the reason why there's real ale on sale for the Sale game when it hasn't been on sale at our games is that Sale simply asked for it...

| As someone who is privvy to what has gone on at Stockport County, the renaming of the stands, blocking out of your badge etc is the start of things to come.
I really really didn't want Sale in an RL ground, Brian Kennedy is a piece of work. He doesn't show his face at all in Stockport and it got to the stage where he was getting threats off Stockport fans (not that I condone this)
From another point of view, Sale got a pretty average attendance for their first game, when they play on a Friday night the train is out of the question-and a lot of them use it, I work at Stockport station.
Hopefully the Salford venture won't work for them and another plan of action for them returning to their own town sooner rather than later will come about, stop them going round wrecking other sports clubs.
You wouldn't believe the difference in enthusiasm at Stockport County now that they have hope to move up again.
Hope it works out for you lot, I feel for you.

| Sale just on BBC Northwest Tonight saying that if they can average 7.5k they will be self sufficient (of Brian Kennedy's money) within 18 months.

| Looks like they'll be self-sufficient pretty quickly then. Their average attendance last year in the league, if I'm not mistake, was around 7900. Add onto that the new stadium factor, and how well they've seemed to manage the transition (compared to us anyway), can see them not being far off the 10k mark.

thats what happens when you charge £47 a seat, but their salary cap is higher I think they will still be dependent in 3 years.

The world champions play at a stadium named after a district of Leeds and Wigan play in a stadium named after a soccer club chairman.
Warrington and Saints are different but Widnes play in a stadium named after the local council and FC play in a stadium named after a telephone group.
