i guess its the Media City being a sponsor... That is great news!

It's a huge sponsor, very high profile. Should get us more publicity in the future which is great for the club.

wonder how this compares? If its comparable or bigger could be good news in sense of player recruitment and spending up to cap. plus lots of promotion opportunities!

Well... If there is anybody out there who doesn't think this is big news for the club... you need your bumps feeling.

This is massive going forward.... especially with the franchises just around the corner. Without deals like this... we could kiss goodbye to signing any decent players.

Having the team photo taken next year at the Media City would be really good publicity. I wonder if we could sneak a couple of players/coaches on BBC Breakfast or ITV news for interviews?

Makes you wonder what the longer term spin-off could be in terms of additional new sponsorship opportunities and attracting a lot more corporate clients. Especially in a new modern stadium with excellent facilities. Great News!

The corporate client aspect is HUGE I reckon. It's an amazing oppurtunity.

Oh Contraire, I heard Jeremy Clarkson was thrilled ... he will now know salford has a starbucks , ducks & a rugby team.

A guesstimate is than one corporate client is equal to six regular supporters. If the club could treble the number of corporates (With the extra capacity at Barton) this would be equal to getting another 3000 fans through the turnstiles on matchdays. All we need is a level playing field at maximum salary cap!

So from one arm of Peel Holdings to another, then?

This is a great coupe for this club and now gives us the opportunity to market the club which is what this club needs. The club should be proud of catching a opportunity like this. And it bold well for future at new stadium and the franchise round the corner and under a new coach surly things can only get better.

This is huge news, great move by the club

. Although maybe not as exciting as a new player, it's a massive step forward.

I personally think it's fantastic news, in these days of austerity it's tough enough to get sponsors for major events never mind a mid-lower team in a minority sport especially when you've also got so much other stuff in the area.

The media and marketing opportunities that will be available around Media City / The Quays for business and public alike to see could be huge (if done correctly) Peel are a savy lot, they need that stadium to be profitable and that will be done from a combination of business and fans alike. If Peel can sell off the private boxes, corporate meals for 700 each home game, advertising signs around the stadium and even naming rights then, for me, it's a win-win.

KOTS- the evidence of Peel sponsoring us at The Trafford Centre wasn't high profile other than a picture at the doors few use.

We are swapping the sponsor, but it really could be a big move but we need to try to get Peel to do more, both for the club and the sport.

Like you say they are a savy lot so there would have to be something in it for them.

They need to have a box and take their media contaats to the games, especilally if we play well.

But there's more in it for Peel now, they have a real investment (the Stadium) to think about, before it was a means to an end as far as I can see with the Council re Port Salford, you scratch ours we'll scratch yours kind of thing. The Trafford Centre gained nothing from us.This has to work for Peel and lets be honest love'um or loath'um they rarely fail.

It's will be in Peel's and the Councils best interests that Salford Reds are a more succesful club with a bigger following when we move to Barton. I can't imagine Peel would want to be associated with a second rate superleague club when we move into one of their new facilities. I believe with their financial investment in the stadium it changes things.

I rode past Media City last week at the start of the Manchester to Blackpool bike ride and the place looks impressive, especially with the BBC logo on the side. How good would it look if Peel were to put the Reds logo on the front saying "Proud Sponsors of......" Maybe that's something the club could now push for?!
