To be fair to the above psoters there are a good few fans (myself included) who would volunterr some of thier free time to help out the club they love. Not entirely sure how my skills in accident and breakdown management would help, though I guess I could have been usefull when Sibbet did anything that he had to come out of his cotton wool padding.
Think for instance that the job on the mic at games would be better suited to someone younger, there must be someone on here who could step up to the plate, jesus for the cost of a free season ticket and shirt the club wouldn' be onto a loser with the idea.

Jewitt back on track

[iLee Jewitt is ready to make his Salford comeback against Wakefield on Sunday after more than two months on the sidelines with a mystery injury.

The 23-year-old from Oldham thought he had a knee problem until specialists discovered a damaged disc in his back.

Now the all-action prop, who has signed a new three-year contract, is desperate to play in the final game of the season to say goodbye to his pals who are leaving the club.

Jewitt said: “I was getting the pain in my knee but they found out it was coming from my back.

“They weren’t getting anywhere with my knee or hamstrings so they went for another option.

“They were baffled and sent me to see a back specialist. They did a couple of scans and revealed I had a bulging disc.

“I had to have an epidural in my back and it’s sweet now. Within two or three days I was fine and felt like I had a new back.”

Jewitt has been playing with the reserves for the last three weeks and is hoping for a call-up from coach Shaun McRae for the Wakefield game when regulars like Stuart Littler, Willie Talau, Phil Leuluai and Luke Swain will play their last game for the club.

“It would be nice to return and get a game under my belt before the end of the season,” said Jewitt. “But it will be an emotional game because a lot of people are leaving this year. This is one game I really want to play in.

“I’ve got some good mates who will be going back to the other side of the world and some who are going to other clubs.”

Despite losing good friends, Jewitt is looking forward to playing alongside next season’s new signings.

“They have brought in some good, experienced players and with the developments at the new stadium it looks like it’s going to be an exciting year.

“There will be good competition for places and that can only be a good thing. The main thing is you want to learn and the players coming in have been in Challenge Cup finals and played in big games and you can only benefit from players like that.”

Salford City Reds and the Reds Devils Association are hosting the Lance Todd Gala Dinner at The Lowry Hotel tomorrow and Sky presenter Eddie Hemmings is hosting Salford’s player awards evening at the Willows on Thursday, September 16.
