Just back from Kings Lynn and gutted but immensely proud of the team
performance with a solitary goal just five minutes from time seperating the two sides. Once again Salford bellied their lowly league status against a team one league higher who had scored 23 goals in their three previous home league fixtures. The Ammies spurned three golden second-half scoring opportunites which they were ultimately left to rue.

Irlam FC took on AFC Liverpool at Valarie Park on Saturday. Irlam dominated the first 30 minutes but only had one goal to show for it. Liverpool took control in the 2nd half but good defence and MOM display from Irlam keeper kept Liverpool out. Irlam scored a second on the counter but Liverpool pulled one back 1 minute later to set up a nervous last 20 minutes. Irlam held on though and took the three points. There was a bit of banter with the AFC Liverpool crowd, who were quite vocal but very small in number due to "big" Liverpool playing.

Salford City play at the same ground this Saturday against Prescot Cables and the pitch is an absolute state.

Irlam's next game is away to Norton United in the 2nd round of the Division 1 Trophy.

FC lost 3-2 at home to Harrogate in the FA trophy on Saturday.

Away game at Kendal off tonight. Kendal at home in the league on Saturday.

Bet the Kettering lot loved that result, expect alot of them at our place in a weeks time. Potential Manchester United for the winners.

Saturday taught me to check the internet in the morning before setting off to Bury in just a t-shirt like an idiot.



I certainly won't be making that mistake again.

Playing for the first time in a fortnight Salford City fell to a disappointing 2-0 league home defeat at the hands of visiting Prescot Cables. Two lapses in defence in the first half did the damage with the Ammies unable to make any headway after the break as the rain came down and conditions got progressively worse.

Must have been bad to lose to that rabble



We drew 1-1 with FC Halifax Holier than Thou but still in the same tinpot league as the rest of us Town, the scrawpy Yorkshire gits equalising early on Sunday morning, 20 seconds before the final whistle.

Definitely a bad day at the office today. We gifted them two soft goals and were out muscled in all departments.

We are at the Shay next Saturday which is a game and ground that I'm looking forward to seeing. Would love to be the first team to dent their unbeaten home record!

Keep James Dean quiet and you've got a chance. If you haven't been before, the pubs near the station do a good pint (Pump Room and Three Pigeons) but, if you can, stand further out wide so that you don't bear the brunt of the moaning sods.

Salford City found it tough going at promotion favourites Halifax Town when they went down 6-1 at the Shay this afternoon. We certainly didn't deserve to be 3-0 down at half-time although the final scoreline reflected Halifax's second half
dominance.
The Ammies are back in league action this Tuesday ko 7:45pm when Mossley are the visitors.

Salford City bounced back in style tonight after last Saturday's disappointing performance at Halifax Town with a comfortable 4-1 win over Mossley. The goals came from Rhodri Giggs (pen), Craig Mahon, own goal and ex FC United debutant Dave Neville.


This Saturday Salford entertain promotion chasing Colwyn Bay at Moor Lane. Weather permitting of course!

Salford City's first league fixture since December 15th ended with an equally disappointing performance and result as they went down 4-1 at league leaders Lancaster City. Three first half goals sealed the Ammies fate which was not helped by the addition of some poor decisions by the referee and one of his linesmen. Next up is a local derby at Moor Lane on Saturday 23rd January when near neighbours Radcliffe Borough are the visitors.

A desperately poor first half performance saw Salford City trail 2-0 at the break to local rivals Radcliffe Borough but despite a second half fight back which saw Rhodri Giggs score a stunnining individual goal on 65 minutes it was the visitors who left Moor Lane with all three league points.

FC drew 1-1 away at Stocksbridge Park Steels. Conceded the equaliser late on.

Bit of green and gold on show too which was good.

Salford City suffered an embarrasing 6-2 Manchester Premier Cup exit at the hands of Radcliffe Borough at Moor Lane last night. It was the Ammies second defeat by their local rivals in a four day period - the previous defeat coming in a league fixture. It's hoped that there can be an improvement this weekend when another home league fixture sees Leigh Genesis as the visitors.

Would have posted last night but only got back in early this morning after having drowned my sorrows!

FC drew 0-0 at home to North Ferriby last night, not bad considering we went down to ten men early. Kyle Wilson is back on a month's loan from Macclesfield.

North Ferriby? You weren't singing "are you Frickley in disguise" by any chance were you!
