The record win for the Challenge Cup is something like 136-0 (York v Northumbria Uni a couple of years ago) and the previous record had stood since about 1908. I expect you to win handsomely but that might be setting the bar a bit too high for now.

Veivers did play Marc Sneyd last year against a side who, over the years, have a formidable home record and can only be classed as an established rugby league club.
Gloucestershire All Golds are considered embryonic.
I now understand that everyone who leaves Salford willingly or otherwise is absolutely useless and everyone who arrives is the next best thing,or was the next best thing;it seems the current expression is to 'move on'.
Despite all the apparent flaws that Veivers had/has,the game at Whitehaven was won and a good home tie followed.
Let us hope history repeats itself in this campaign.

he played 1 youngster out of a successful u20's team who were top of the divivison. Come on be serious Vievers was more interrested in playing Ex Wigan Academy lad than ours. Allan has done the right thing and blooded a lot. DJ,Smith,Moon,Sidlow,Gleeson hardly useless! We are currently bottom of the pile and our only saving grace is that we are finally being forced to blood the youngsters that Vievers never had the balls to do last year. Are u telling me that Salford last year against the powerhouse of cumbira Whitehaven couldn't blood more than a guy who had been around the first team? A 68 point margin then is the benchmark, anything less will be a complete and utter failure. No pressure!

As mentioned elsewhere, you really don't get sarcasm and part of my post seemed to sail over your head.
Your appreciation of all things youth does seem dependant on your selective amnesia,as an earlier post of yours decided on the future of one such player even before the season started - [url=http://viewtopic.php?f=20&t=542234&p=17225443&tsmp=1366476110#p17225443HERE[/url
Surprisingly, and possibly to your credit, your like or dislike of Veivers also seems to turn as often as the wind direction

| Considering we fielded 8 youngsters from our 20's last year I thought it was a good points tally. Big well done to them.

| Very impressed with the young lads today, thought Tyson looks exciting!! Raw but exciting! Fair play to Gloucester they gave it a go and can hold there heads high. Really enjoyed watching the young lads, who will not doubt benefit imensely from that run out. Only down point was the KNOB sat in the bar shouting and swearing first half. Fortunately I think the stweards got hold of him at half time, really embarrassing for the club as there were little kids everywhere and his language was terrible. Thought Gloucester have a really good little set up there and hopefully the continue to develop as they have some good young lads there and a really good set up for away fans as well. Would love to get a championship club next and play the youngsters again. MOM Sneyd. Foran was horrendous though, he was blowing after 20 mins and looks like he could rival Corvo and Cabbage as one of the worst Aussies we have signed!

| I quite like Foran and think he's a good player, although I wasn't there today so can't comment on his performance today.
In regards to our worst Aussie import, I nominate Junior Langi!

| I like Foran too, think he might just need a bit more time. I'm not sure if he'll be able to take us to the heights the Doctor wants though, but we'll just have to wait and see.
As for worst Aussie import, Langi was pretty bad, but Carige was something else.

| Foran has already shown more than enough to suggest he is nowhere near Carige, Corvo or Langi. He's still no better than what we had already in Sneyd, Fages and Evalds though.

| Let's not split hairs, but Foran is a Kiwi. I always try to give the benefit of the doubt to new players coming in and it was clear Horan and Mauro arrived a long way from fitness. They should now be up to speed, but I fear, herein lies the problem with Foran. He has absolutely no pace, and as a half back that is always going to be a problem. I just can not see how he is going to get in the team. As for playing him at Loose Forward, forget it, his defence is not good enough.

I agree
If,or when, the current club relationships end,it may be beneficial for both clubs to retain a friendly relationship
for the development of young players.
Wigan apear to have made efforts to have links with North and South Wales, but the south west of England may be a future fertile area for talent.

| The south-west is a rugby area, sadly RU not RL, but therefore capable of development. They tend to produce big forwards. Why not link?

Unfair to write off Foran & Mauro yet IMO.
It's not as if they arrived , had a good pre season in a settled side , then failed to perform , they were yanked off a 24hrs flight , given shirts & thrown onto the pitch 36 hrs later .
2 days after the coach that signed them was gone.

I agree completely, but the flight and the coaches departure are a while ago now so can only be used as an excuse for a short time now.
I think they'll both be ok but they do need to step up and quickly

On reading your post I checked and it seems to have been a 'coaching of coaches' type of [url=http://www.therfl.co.uk/news/article/26802/leeds-rhinos-to-visit-gloucestershireLink[/url
Brian Noble had been down there [url=http://www.therfl.co.uk/news/article/22981/brian-noble-works-with-gloucesterEarlier[/url and [url=http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/rugby-league/18023958Since[/url
Leeds are pushing the boundaries;linking with Hunslet in south Leeds and making strides in North Yorkshire.
They have got into [url=http://www.therhinos.co.uk/news/5248.phpSchools down in Gloucestershire[/url and Hetherington is doing his bit since government cuts [url=http://www.yourchamber.org.uk/news/2012/12/leeds-rhinos-respond-to-government-cuts-to-rugby-league-funding/Source[/url
They also have links in Cumbria.
At least there has been some groundwork done in Gloucestershire before the club has been entered into Championship 1.
