Neil I have read numerous posts you have made over the past few weeks by stating the club are hiding the truth and misleading the fans over the new stadium. I have also read many responses to your comments explaining that the club are in the hands of Peel and not in a position to decide when the work actually starts on-site. It has been stated previously that Peel, the club and the council are continually meeting on a regular basis to ensure the work starts a.s.a.p. as they know the importance of fulfilling this area of the licensing criteria.

I can fully understand your frustration and loss of patience but it baffles me that you choose to ignore this information in preference to slandering the club and making up unfounded theories.

Neil we are all totally hacked off that it's dragged on for so long but your frequent outbursts on this subject achieve nothing and could be construed as trying to influence other supportors about the integrity of the club.

I think what annoys me and a great many like me on here most about the stadium issue is that surely the club should be doing more to keep us informed as they must know how important it is to us all.
I know people will say there isnt a great deal to keep us informed about but any little snippets of news would be better than nothing.

Not sure I agree MR. I am annoyed that the club keep making non statements.

I would rather they say, we are in the hands of Peel and will make no further comment until we have something worth saying. We look stupid with constantly saying it will happen with no firm evidence to show.

I am increasingly annoyed when statements are released without substance.. just telling us it WILL happen. I have faith in the Chairman... but I'd rather them say nothing...

Club : It will happen
Reporter : When will it happen ?
Club : It just will
Reporter : How can we be certain ?
Club : Ooooo It will. It'll happen.
Reporter : So when it happens... Where will the funding come from ?
Club : We've got the funding.
Reporter : Where has the funding come from though ?
Club : Mark my words... We've got it, and it will happen.
Reporter : So how about a message to the fans regarding the stadium.
Club : It will happen.

Im sure if JW has organised a TV interview it will be more news rather than the same stuff we have in the papers.

The BBC ran trailers this morning at 6:30 saying more tonight.

Was it a happy trailer or a sad one? What did it say exactly?

Peel Holdings interview in the advertsier as well:

"We working hard with the rugby club and council to be able to build the stadium and how to make it affordable. It's not going to be a profitable venture from our perspective."

It basically went along the lines of "We still hope the stadium will be built" or words to that effect

Just got the MEN. It mainly talks about the interview with the advertiser talking about Peel's vision for regeneration of Salford - "we're in it for the long haul" (not sure if that's good or bad)

The MEN article says (Peel) remains fully behind the Barton stadium project despite the long delays in the development's progress "We're absolutely commited to it, as are salford City Council and the rugby club"

Not only from reading this but reading everything else there are too many people saying it will be build for it not to happen.
Maybee not on schedule but it will happen defo!!!!

I hope we get some movement soon regarding the stadium, it sounds like Peel want some help funding it perhaps they are waiting for Salford Council to stump up a bit of cash to help it along.

It would be a massive let down, building a new shinny stadium and having to watch Salford play Batley in it for 3 years with 1500 other people and 30 from Batley until we get back in the big time. (if they let us back in)

Even with a new stadium or one on the way, it still doesn't guarantee a franchise. Especially the way the RFL want to constantly "expand" the game.

It won't be long before there will be Saints, Wigan, Leeds, Bradford, Newcastle, Edinburgh, Dublin, Celtic, London x2, French x2 etc. It all adds up to more movement away from the heartlands and more Sky subscriptions from those areas, if there is any local interest.

The championship will look like the good old days shortly.
