| Quote ="Bigpev"I see Julien Rinaldi is Ok to play for Wakefield, after being found guilty and fined 500 quid, despite being cited for a grade B offence which carry's a 1-2 match ban if found guilty and a max fine of 300 quid, the panel appear to have gone against the sentencing guidelines on this one. They state that a fine may not be used in place of a ban, I think they must have misread it somewhere along the lines.'"
This is the very kind of thing that makes British rugby league look a complete and utter joke. Throw the book at Salford with 3 suspentions, two of which were picked up in friendly matches yet they let off a Wakey player because they obviously feel sympathy for them. I tell you something if it was a Salford player up before the RL he would have been banned. Where is the consistency Cummings?

| Quote ="Fatboys Limb"I've never understood why people demand that an under-performing team be replaced by a bunch of kids?
I seem to remember a very young Malcolm Alker becoming Salford's youngest ever captain when he led out a team of kids against Halifax away a good few years ago, after a large number of our 'stars' of the time were dropped after a series of poor results/performances. That team got battered all over the Shay as I remember and I thoroughly expect the same would happen to a team of kids at Belle Vue on Sunday.'"
Yeah I agree to a certain extent, we can't just throw kids into a losing team hoping they will turn it around because more often than not it will turn out worse. It's ideal to drip feed youngsters into a winning team that's full of confidence like Wigan, Saints etc. But we're not Wigan or Saints so when is the ideal time to put our youngsters in? It's a difficult one, but I suggest giving a couple of them a chance Toby Adamson, Gareth Owen, Mark Sneyd and Adam Clay all have something to prove and maybe they will inject a bit of much needed enthusiasm/passion into the squad. Yes they will make mistakes that's a given, but for the love of Christ they can't to any worse than what we're witnessing at the moment.
For me I'd like to see.
Ratchford ( I would like to see him partner Holdsworth on a regular basis, but whilst we have injuries get him at FB. Can tackle, good safe hands and can chime into the line to act as 3rd halfback)
Broughton ( Fast and powerful everything a winger should be, wasted at Salford under McRae only touches the ball when scooting the ball out of our half)
Henry ( Needs to improve his defence, far too many tries being leaked down his centre)
Nero ( Ermm not too sure yet, seen glimpses of good stuff but undecided)
Gibson ( like Henry Defence seems his week point, often fly's out of position and gets caught out)
Sneyd ( Good kicking game, did alright last year and the experience will have done him the world of good)
Holdsworth ( Classy player as we all know, just needs the forwards to start dominating otherwise it might as well be me playing 7)
Cashmere ( Best forward by about 17,0000000000 country miles)
Smith ( Was impressed with him at Cardiff, still don't really see him as anything special though)
Boyle ( Get him in now his ban is up he can't do any worse)
L.Adamson ( Needs a big season and to show more than just his defensive side although at this moment in time its more then welcome)
Spencer ( Played well so far in two poor performances makes yards when he has the ball and hasn't done too much wrong)
Wild ( A Grafter always willing to take the ball in, makes plenty of tackles. Only problem is he misses plenty as well)
[uSubs[/u
Jewitt ( People always say It's going to be Jewitts year. Needs to improve IMO, gets dominated on contact far too much)
Owen ( Played well at the back end last year and we have no other options in this department with Godwin suspended)
Feka ( Either him or Neal only gone for Feka for his experience)
Sidlow ( Been dire in the first couple of games, but does have the ability to make things happen in attack just needs to toughen up in Defence)
[uRest[/u
Parker ( Just not up to it, makes about 2 meters every drive)
Neal ( Maybe worth a place on the bench instead of jewitt or given a go in the back row instead of Spencer?)
Patten ( Injured)
Godwin (Suspended)
Anderson ( Injured)
Bailey ( Injured)
Gleeson ( Injured??)
Clay ( maybe worth a shot if we go for Gibson at fullback with Ratchford and Holdsworth in half's and then Clay on the wing?)
T. Adamson ( No place for him just yet, but from the reports I've heard it won't be too much longer)
5 of our new signings sitting it out!!!
Quote (awaits Ave it to reply with the Eccles bias)'"
And I was well and truely sozzled when i wrote that, FWIW I too think Jack is a couple of years being ready, but IMO he's been one of our better performers this season.
By the way my Eccles bias comments still stand

To be fair Lee really stepped up on Friday if stats are to be believed, at Cardiff he only managed 36 meters in only 5 carries and made 19 tackles, no tackle busts, no offloads and no clean breaks.
On Friday he changed all that 92 meters in 10 carries, 37 tackles and 2 tackle busts, 3 offloads & 1 clean break.
Compare that to our best forward (The great Raymondo) its only 2 meters less, 4 less carries and 14 more tackles, 1 less tackle bust, the same offloads and a clean break more.
None too shabby at all.

| I'll bow down to your statistical knowledge then. To be fair I was steaming on Friday in case you didn't notice after being out since 1 so don't remember that much of the game ( thank god).
My point still stands regarding Jewitt though for me he tends to get dominated far too much. I understand he might read the board and this is by no way a slagging off as he got great potential. We just really need our props to step up and Jewitt seems to have all the hype surrounding him every year, which he never seems to fulfil although to be fair injuries haven't helped.

Martin you have come up with a brilliant Idea, get McRae steaming and then he can see what we see and sort it out, no wonder he has seen nothing because he has been sober in the past.

Just a couple of things. How many tackles did Jewitt and Ray miss? Who did each player 'bust' in the tackle? Were the offloads made by each player effective and/appropriate? What circumstances led to the respective clean breaks made? (I.e., was there a big gaping hole that my mum could've gone through or was it a genuine line break involving the domination of an opposing player? Presuming it wasn't as a result of genius fotwork of course...)

I suppose the point i'm attempting to make for people is that the stats don't always tell the whole story.
I mean, Wild missing 10 tackles sounds dreadful. But it doesn't state where and when he missed them and fails to take into account that he was on the park for the full 80 minutes and thus is likely to miss more tackles as a result.

Vastman.
I could pretty much write you a history of my experiences watching Salford with the pre cursor of ' Should have ' .
along with ' Salford have got a great team on paper '
Present squad based on there outings so far couldn't steamroller anyone even if the the Late Fred Dibnah lent them some heavy machinery ..
I'll be at Wakey and I'm expecting a wakey win by shear enthusiasm

TBH I reckon the committee took one look at his name and assumed he was still playing for Catalans, and that's why they didn't ban him.
RFL sympathy for Wakey is pretty much non-existent!

| According to this article, Luke Patten has been cleared to play on Sunday
Quote ="superleague.co.uk"McRae is able to recall prop Ryan Boyle for Sunday’s game after he missed both opening games through suspension and full-back Luke Patten will play despite initial fears that he would have to undergo surgery to repair a badly-broken nose.
“The doctor was able to manipulate his nose immediately and he’s very happy with the way it set and the fact that he’s not got any breathing difficulties,” said McRae. “He’s fine to play which is a major boost for us.”

Were right up for this from the Chairman to our young supporters and most of all our team, written off again as per usual.
Expect nothing short of a titanic battle e on Sunday and if you are not up to scratch then I fear with the adrenalin at the club at the moment then you will suffer badly. on the other hand people will say we are over hyped. Should be a great afternoon look forward to seeing a few Reds fans making the trip over.

I'm expecting nothing other than another heavy defeat, but I'll be there as usual hoping and praying we can do the unexpected. Oh and I'll be enjoying a right good day/night in wakefield 9.27 from Manchester and who cares about the train back? Always try to enjoy my away days wherever they are!!!
