Was very impressed as dirving home from work on Saturday around 13:30 they were still working and then again last night around 18:30 the machines were still out and grafting.

Must be on a timed job with penalties if they overun.

But all in all excellent progress that is tangible proof of progress.

Its advisable to take a passenger with you to take the shots as trying to drive over the bridge and take a few snaps at the same time would be very difficult I'd imagine

Can't get pictures as the traffic aint been bad enough but the activety on site has ramped up considerably this week with a huge increase of the amount of plant working on site and they now appear to be laying and packing down the crushed brick aggregate.

Still none the wiser what is happening to the large elevated section in the middle of the site or to the stream that runs through a section of the land????.

Still think though that the club should be keeping fans who don't use the flyover informed of progress with plenty of pictures.

Don't suppose anyone has a plane or microlite at Barton they can strap a box brownie too and get some good shots is there ?

I drive past the site every day. They're putting some graft in them lads! It could work out quite well for me, I set off home from work at 7 oclock from Stockport somedays. I'll be able to bob in to a few games if you lot will allow a leyther a game of rugby! "sorry love, I finished work late and the traffic was murder"

You'll be welcome as long as you pay to get in and don't try to watch for free by "breaking down" on the hard shoulder of the flyover.

No that's a thought! Nah I like the atmosphere at the Willows, hope the fans from the shed stay together somehow in the new ground. I had a day off when Leigh wern't playing a couple of years back and went to Salford-Wakey and really enjoyed it.

I remember when the stadium was first mentioned it had a really strange design with one stand being huge and it looked amazing! Are those plans still in place or have the sensible brigade made it 'more efficient'?

Really interesting viewing those.

I'm no expert on these things, but looking at [url=http://iclipseweb.salford.gov.uk/AnitePublicDocs/07517445.pdfthis document[/url, it looks like there will be seating on both sides of the pitch and standing behind the sticks. Would be disappointed if that was the case.

That certainly appears to be the case.

But green?

I know we won't own the place, but at least a predominance of red would give a [usense[/u of ownership! Even fecking magenta would be better.

As much as I love standing down the side of the pitch, right now I'll settle very kindly for any terracing and lets get it built!

I think this is of much more significance to Salford than other sports teams because we have 'Reds' in the team name. I am hoping the green seats shown on the drawings has no relavance to the actual colour they are going to be, but who knows?

If it's the developers who have specified this the club could always put pressure on the council with a suggested name change to Manchester City Greens United!

I can't see them wanting that can you?
