There is also the Plough which is next door to the derilict Rainscough Pub
Salford Slim you must be a very quick walker if it only takes you 10-12 minutes to Moor Lane from the Friendship icon_wink.gif'"
All downhill from Scholes Lane and takes at least 5 mins off the journey if you cut across Kersal Moor. Factor in the predominantly northerly wind at your back and 10 mins is quite do-able! Shame on me forgetting about The Plough but think it must be at least 10 years since I've stepped foot in the place.

| Quote ="SalfordSlim"If you're getting the train to Salford Crescent there are plenty of boozers in and around Salford Precinct (if you're brave!

Think we'll start off in Leigh and Atherton and go straight to the ground from the Crescent and put our money in to your club, presuming the planned 'emergency' bar is sorted?

| Think I'll go to Salford city tomorrow.
Also FC vs Stalybridge in the FA cup on Sunday. Split gate reciepts plus £5k to Bury = a loss financial loss for FC, so those who follow FC on here try and get to this one.
Cheers.

You bringing a firm down? We're getting 1.15 train from Atherton if you want to meet us at the Crescent or get on the same train.

| Fantastic result for Salford City today with Rhodri Giggs scoring the only goal in a hard fought game just seven minutes from time which gave the Ammies a 1-0 win over Hyde United in front of 400 spectators. The victory now sets up a mouth watering FA Cup 3rd Qualifying Round tie against Blue Square North Conference side Blyth Spartans at Moor Lane this coming Tuesday night. Kick off 7:45pm.
Great to see local businesses, politicians and local people rallying round to help the Ammies after the devastating fire last weekend which saw four portakabins in situ which ensured that alchohol, hot and cold food and toilet facilities were all available on site. Roll on Tuesday night ..........

t'was a cracking result if not a great match, we had enough of the ball and chances in the first 45 to have the game won by half time. It was more than an arm wrestle in the 2nd half but well done to the boys and yes roll on Tuesday!

Spot on fella, I know from my work environment that a lot of work has gone in this week behind the scenes that could go unnoticed and unpublicised (and I think that we as Reds fans should consider this when pondering what’s happening with our stadium!!!) I was very impressed with the crowd in terms of numbers (A few factors in that if we're honest) and the volume from the main stand, where did that come from, admittedly I didn't make many matches last season but from what I recall there was nothing like that, in fact in all the years I've watched it somewhat a rarity!
Well Done (Oh and the banners aren't bad either! )

The vocal support coincided with the appointment of present manager Paul Wright in the early part of this year and has been growing ever since. We are still few in number but give us an enclosed stand and we can make a decent amount of noise. I'm still trying to get the guys who stand behind the opposition goal at Moor Lane to join us in the main stand but so far I've not managed to persuade them! Mind you when we go away we do all tend to congregate together.
Would like at least one more banner to display as well as getting some lettering on the tangerine and black chequered one.
Cheers ...................................

Both Salford and FC in the draw for the 4th round then.

| I'm torn. Stalybridge Celtic or FCUM? Probably two of my least favourite teams. Add Droylsden to the mix and you have the three least likeable teams outside the football league.
Gutted the Tigers lost to a team like Salford City. They needed the money desperately and are struggling to pay the players. They have always been a much better team and club than Salford but these are hard times for Hyde. Shame really as I used to love going to Ewen Fields.

SALFORD COMPLETE RECORD AGAINST HYDE P3 W2 D1 L0 F 5 A 3

Apologies accepted
Hyde have mismanaged the finances for years. They've been so close to the Conference on so a number of occasions, held reserve games involving city and united and sold players to conference and league clubs plus they used to have good crowds. They usually get c2000 for games against 'Bridge. Comparing hyde with Salford City is like comparing SRLFC with Whitehaven.
I wouldn't mock them for financial mismanagement. Listening to a programme on the radio a few months back, they states that around 30% of non-leagues clubs are close to going bankrupt.
City helped out Hydr. Haven't heard anything about United helping out

Fella I'm a little shocked to hear you come out with something like that, so if a club like BurnleyWigan/Hull City beat Man Utd/Liverpool/Arsenal shall we say, would you fell the same? What about your boys at City when they were relegated to the depths was it the same then? Or to put a little closer to home, if Salford RLFC beat Wigan/Leeds/Saint could the same be said?
I'm not sure what a clubs past has to do with anything when it's been run badly e.g. Leeds Utd, Salford is a well run little club managing to keep its head above water and doing quite well, beating a team from 3 steps above them in the non-league pyramid (A struggling team maybe, although they are mid-table) a little credit wouldn't hurt would it?
BTW you're a Wire fan!
