| Quote ="Fungus The Muffin Man"Where have you got the 750 diners from? I can't see anything on the website to say how much the corp hosp will hold. Plus do you really think there will be that many using the facility?
Also believe it or not Buile hill can take up to 350 people. It doesn't take that much more to cater for double that amount nowadays. I also think your not giving the staff who do the catering much respect. I've sampled their food before and it' of a decent quality.'"
I read it somewhere. If you consider the size of it from the drawings it's huge and spans virtually the length of the pitch as is several metres wide.
I'm sorry you feel that I'm not giving much respect to the council, I certainly didn't intend to give anyone that impression. I can't recall making any critisism about the quality of the food, venue or service.
You must appreciate that there is much more too this than the preperation and serving of food. There is a big initial outlay to consider that would probably cost the council a lot more than professional caterering contractors who have huge buying powers, vast experience and recruitment expertise in their field. For instance they will source certain foods, beverages and kitchen equipment cheaper and will have a much greater understanding of running a big venue like this from experience. They will employ top sales people to attract people to the venue because it's in their interests to get people in. Why do clubs like Man United, Man City, Warrington not do their own catering if it's that easy and there is so much money to be made from it?
I could argue that you are not showing any respect to professional catering contractors who after all are experts in their own field.

Starbug new stadiums cost millions they aren't free. Leigh's problem is they ain't attracting nearly enough people for the great facility they are in. It would probably stack up for you a lot better if you were getting bigger crowds in Superleague.
It's worked for Hull and they considered nothing more than a second tennent at the KC.

The 750 diners figure is correct and it was mentioned at the AGM in January.
There will be 12 corporate boxes, four have already been taken up.
The corporate side, marketing and filling the 750 places will be undertaken by a specialist company who are as i understand it currently working with Northampton Saints Rugby Union Club and their aim will be to use the facilities on as many occasions as possible as they do already at Northampton.
There is another marketing company on board to sell the stadium to the general public as has been mentioned a few weeks ago.

You already know the answer to this so why ask? The company running the stadium are the company that are spending over 20 million to build it. Just because it hasn't worked for Leigh due years of decline and smaller crowds in the national league doesn't mean it can't help us move forward. If I had a choice between this and staying at the Willows without a franchise it would be this every time.

| Stadium management companies are set up for new stadiums to recover the outlay, running costs and maintenance of a stadium. They will look to maximise the earnings from the stadium and it's hospitality facilities 52 weeks of the year.
A tennent pays a rent for playing matches at the stadium and has use of all the facilities on matchdays. The club are also provided with offices, club shop and changing/treatment area's. There is a cost to the tennent but you have to consider the tennent is not having to pay rates, utility costs, ground maintenence costs, insurance, policing, and for matchday staffing as they would in their previous home. For a rugby league club with 13 home fixtures a year (Less Cup) it just doesn't make sense owning your own ground, especially if it's inferior to a new stadium that has much better facilities.
For the move to be successful it's absolutely vital the club attracts more support and sponsorship than they did in their previous ground. This has been Leigh's problem and that's why Starbug is so bitter about the situation at the LSV. Unfortunately for Leigh their new stadium has had no effect on increasing support and it leaves the club with less control than at Hilton Park for increasing revenue through other means.

Yes it is vital to attract more support , if you look on the last page you will see how much money and how long it will take to get a new stadium to self susstaining for SCR s , it gives me no pleasure to see that you might end up in a similar position to Leigh , believe me , i wish that upon no RL club
I have posted what I have in response to numerous posts by Salford fans on this thread who seem under the impression that the stadium will instantly generate hundreds of thousands of pounds in extra revenue for the club
It wont , that will only happen through fans through the turnstyles , and that will need a lot of hard work and money

Believe me,the Chairman and the other directors are under no illusion that a new stadium alone will not automatically generate a large amount of extra revenue into SCR.
They know what crowds we have to achieve to make the club a success on and off the field and they have also carried out numerous checks and balances to help in increasing the crowds which includes the corporate side as well as the playing staff and facilities.
I don't know how the Leigh Sports Village was set up and is currently operated, but where would Leigh Centurions be now if they didn't have the stadium?
From what I hear big inroads are being made at the club into attracting new money into the club from areas/companies/individuals who up to now for whatever reason have not made any commitment previously.

If it's not working out for you at LSV you could consider playing in the new 750 capacity function suite at Barton, we'll never fill it in a month of Fridays.

I think it actually IS starting to 'work out' for Leigh at the LSV but it's taken a long while and plenty of fans have been upset along the way, although most have now got used to a new normality.
We have to learn the lessons from their experiences (which is why I suggested the 'leaders' of LISA and Forever Reds get together - hope you managed to ladies??)

| I genuinely hope it does work out. They're a club with a proud history that moved to the LSV at a time when interest in the team had dropped due to playing in a lower division and missing out on a franchise.
I remember going to Hilton Park now and again to watch the likes of John Woods, Des Drummond and Tony Cottrell in the 80's.. (I went the odd Sunday If Salford had played on a Friday) In them days they used to have quite a big following and played some good entertaining rugby. I think what didn't help Leigh up was when the wealthy Wigan directors started throwing big money at their team. Wigan's attendances went up and Leigh's went down.

| Yes once again a poor attendance at the LSV , what should have been one of our biggest games of the year is on TV on a thursday night , and we get £ 4 K for it
Id rather they not bother with the Championship coverage , it does us no favours whatsoever
