Although I've been a Reds season ticket holder for a few seasons now I always miss maybe a couple of home games as my first priority is Salford City Football club. On those rare occasions I passed my season ticket onto one of my sons mates so that someone who normally doesn't go to RL games could have the opportunity of doing so at no cost. Does the fact that you need to have a photo id card - assuming this isn't a wind up - mean that when I can't get to a game that no one else will be able to use my season ticket because their photo isn't on it?

I'm not 100% on this, but from what I've heard a season ticket can be transfered if you can't attend, but a pay-as-you-go membership can't.

That’s right. In essence, as season ticket admission has already been paid for, the owner has passed the right of entry on to somebody else. This doesn’t apply for PAYG memberships as you haven’t paid upfront — the ID has to correspond with the cardholder.

I'd also like to retract my earlier comments regarding the new away shirt. Having seen it in the flesh, so to speak, it really does look smart.

I was thinking that myself why waste x amount of pounds on a machine at around 20 turnstyles doesnt make sense when your meant to be moving in 2011.

They use these at wigan, but if you noticed they use them for match tickets at leeds with no turnstyle operaters so there is nothing stoping you buying a conc ticket.

20 turnstyles is a bit of an exaggeration - there will probably be at best half this number for ticket holders plus others for cash. There is also no reason why any new machinery inistalled couldn't be taken to the new stadium.

went to purchases my season ticket the other day to find out... i had to pay 50 pound on top of my 130 for my season..
the reason was because i had to pay fr a membership in order to purchases a season ticket..
ive never heard of anything like it in my life... is it me or do other people feel like there being ripped of by a club we love and follow no matter what happens season after season and to find out it is cheaper to get a warrington or wigan season ticket to watch the like of sam tomkins and matt king is beyond me

Wigan's cheapest season ticket is £181; Wire's cheapest is £171.

Neither come with a free away shirt or free Magic weekend ticket.

2 things. Firstly you have to give incentive for fans to attend matches in holes like Warrington & Wigan

so I have no probs with them charging similar prices to us. Secondly, IMHO, Matt King is one of the most over-rated players I have ever seen. Maybe I've only happened to catch the games where he's had a mare but from what I've seen he surely can't justify whatever ridiculous amount of wages Wire are paying him.

You didn't have to become a member - you could have purchased a season ticket on its own at the standard price of £180 pounds (equivalent to 10 normal entry charges). Paying £50 to become a member (with free membership to anyone else in your family sharing a house with you) entitled you to a £50 discount on the season ticket.

You don't have to be a member but effectively you have no choice other than to be.

I get the impression that sales are not going well. The club have rang twice to ask whether I will be renewing.

I've been called once to renewe.

When I went in on Monday I asked if everyone had been leaving it until the last minute to renew before the early bird deadline and the girl at the club shop said that it had been very busy, although I obviously don't know how many we've managed to sell overall.

Contrary to your post, the season tickets are going very well, last w/end the shop was very very busy for season ticket sales & been informed at the club that season ticket sales are well up on last years.

AS F.L. posted above, we are one of the cheapest S/T's in super league, + the freebie's thrown in, that fans from other clubs have e-mailed Salford to say that they wish their clubs would offer the deal Salford fans are getting.
Warrington have also had a moan at the club & asked them to remove the little advert on RedPlanet re Salfords being cheaper than there S/T, so the club ARE doing something right.

The club have rung you up about renewing - GOOD - it's called selling, marketing - being proactive, doing their best to get revenue in!!! What would you prefer - the club to do absolutely nothing? I expect there be a whinge then -

i renewed mine two weeks ago never got told about it being a card though i did hear about it before hand on here but never got told about any photos needed?

It is not a problem- thanks! It is an observation. If sales are going that well I find it very strange that the club ring twice.

The reality is that we have a small hard core of fans and that this offer provides nothing for established season ticket holders. I know that this forum in recent times has been hijacked by people with strong opinions and that dissent = derision/rudeness but this is a e offer and one that I will not be taking up.

It will be interesting to see what the average attendance next season will be!

Just because you don't benefit doesn't mean it's a "poop offer".



Personally I would've liked to see a loyality discount for existing season ticket holders although those hardcore fans are generally the ones who don't object to putting their hard earned into the club (other than you, of course).

I agree entirely FL , my son has renewed his season tickets for himself and two of my granddaughters and it has cost him £258 for all three of them in the Austin Truman Stand,excellent seats, plus three shirts, plus free matches etc, what do people want?

I would be worried if the club were not contacting people over season tickets etc.

There is also merit in a Loyalty Scheme as long as it is well thought out and implemented correctly.
