The FA Cup 3rd Qualifying Round draw has handed Salford City a potential
home tie against Blyth Spartans on October 10th if they are able to get past Hyde United one way or another.

Tomorrow night the Ammies travel to table topping Colwyn Bay for a difficult league fixture ko 7:45pm. I've got my passport ready!

Irlam took on Chadderton at Andrew Street on Saturday. The game ended in an entertaining 0-0 draw. Irlam dominated for the majority of the match but somehow didn't convert the copious amount of chances they had. Irlam had one player sent off and Chadderton had two dismissed for violent conduct.

Irlam's next game is against top of the league Stone Dominoes at Silver Street on Saturday.

To my shame I haven't been to a single Ammies game yet this season

, however I do intend to on changing that on Saturday.



Jeez things have changed fgor them I see, last time I saw them cows arze and banjo sprung to mind.. It'sgreat to see Irlam doing well so far this season .

Irlam finished 6th last year, good effort considering they were the new boys.

It`s a pity both Salford and Irlam are at home , I`d hazard a guess and say we`ll be at Moor Lane when I discuss the getting out of domestic duties options for a saturday afternoon with Tigerus Red.

Despite the result, we had a good night there the other week. Chairman's missus even made us some butties while we stayed in their clubhouse til well after the game



County cup action tonight for us, grudge match at Atherton LR

FC vs Stalyvegas is on the Sunday so will hopefully get to both games that weekend.

Just back from Colwyn Bay and absolutely gutted with the result. Two goals in the last three minutes gave the home side a 3-2 win they hardly deserved after impressive debutant Domaine Rouse had twice put the Ammies in the lead. I think I need a drink

Hyde have had their winding up order rescinded so will probably be allowed to play in the FA Cup - believe they're playing Salford next Monday? As it decides whether or not we have a game on Grand Final Saturday, I think I'll be going along to that one.

Salford return to league action and in search of much needed win at Moor Lane this Saturday against Garforth Town kick off 3:00pm while the FA Cup 2nd qualifying round finally takes place at Hyde United on Tuesday 6th October 7:45pm.

Do Salford City sell their shirts anywhere other than Moor Lane on a matchday?

I noticed that, since the Swinton RLFC club shop on Station Road closed, Wilkinson's in Swinton have started to sell Swinton shirts.

I'm sure the Ammies could set up a similar arrangement with Wilkinson's or another store like that ..... although, then again, perhaps Salford RLFC should be looking at something along those lines too?!

Unfortunately our shirt sales are nowhere near good enough to be selling anywhere other than from our own clubhouse. Funnily enough three of us have ordered our new away strip today of green and white stripes which I think really looks smart.

Still can't believe that our game against Garforth Town finished 0-0 today. We had enough clear cut chances to have won at least 6-0. Definitely a case of two points dropped rather than one gained.

Next game at Hyde United in the FA Cup on Tuesday 6th October ko 7:45pm. Should be a very interesting night!

FC United came from 3-1 down yesterday to beat Stocksbridge Park Steels 4-3. Bloody marvellous it was, too. Carlos Roca, never doubted the lad.

Irlam earnt a somewhat fortunate draw against top of the league Stone Dominoes at Silver Street. Game finished 3-3 with Irlam going 2-0 up against the run of the play before conceding 3. Daz Green got the equaliser for Irlam in the 90th minute. Stone stay top whilst Irlam fall to 4th.

Next game is in two weeks (due to Irlam having a bye in the Vodkat League Challenge Cup) against Leek CSOB at home.

Try and leave the ground in a decent state. FC are playing there on Wednesday.

FC started well although they had a goal ruled out Carlos Rocca scored from the penalty spot a few minutes later but went into the break 2-1 down and then went 3-1 down shortly after HT but goals from Deegan,Wright then an injury time winner from feet like lightning Rocca stole all 3 points....Marvellous

Sounds as though the clubhouse at Moor Lane has burnt down this morning, devastating news that - hope they can find some way of replacing the undoubted income that it brings (a cool box and a crate of cans would at least bring [isome[/i funds, you'd hope). Sincerely hope they get summat sorted out as soon as they can (and not just because it puts a huge dent in my Grand Final drinking plans!)

That is devasting news for the club .

Leaves us postponing a game at 4 days notice for the second time this week, but I'll be at Moor Lane on Saturday anyway - look out for the Leigh RL top.



If anyone else is going to the game but is sloping off early to go to the Grand Final then you're welcome to share a taxi with us

Fantastic performance by Salford City tonight who fought back with a real battling performance with the equaliser coming just four minutes from the end after the Ammies had taken the lead after just two minutes of play. An absolutely cracking atmosphere with the Salford fans totally out singing the home support. What a night and roll on Saturday for the replay!

I thought I'd be forgotten after only going to one Salford game last year



What are pre-match plans? Don't recall any pubs near Moor Lane on my last visit and Manc will be a no-go with the EDL march; planning on getting a taxi from the Crescent to the ground, I think. Or have SCFC sorted a temporary measure for a bar, which would be the preferred option?

If you're getting the train to Salford Crescent there are plenty of boozers in and around Salford Precinct (if you're brave!

). The hearest pub to the ground is probably The Friendship Inn (Holts Pub), just off Bury New Road, which is a good 10-12 minute walk. Pretty slim pickings near Moor Lane since the demise of The Kersal, The George, Rainsough Brew etc.

If you are going to the Friendship then you might as well go to a few more in Prestwich as these are just up the road.
There is also the Plough which is next door to the derilict Rainscough Pub
Salford Slim you must be a very quick walker if it only takes you 10-12 minutes to Moor Lane from the Friendship
