I just want to state that I'm incredibly disappointed with the way your club has acted towards one of your most loyal supporters. I wont name the person in question on here. But this individual has done an incredible amount of work to help your club through the years and has given her unconditional support at all times.

She has not only been blocked by the owner on social media but has now it seems been blocked by the official Salford Devils twitter account. This is no way to treat a fan, especially one who is so loyal. To further compound the issue it appears your owner has been making pejorative comments about the individual on twitter.

If any of you knew the person in question you would agree with how disgraceful this is as a way of treating one of your own supporters.

As fans, you should be really disappointed with your club.

I'm firmly on the side of the club and Marwan with this one, unfortunately.

I don't think an official club account should be blocking anybody unless they're being abusive. Vickers and Koukash are individuals with their own opinions (well, the latter is at least) and can block whoever they want, but there's a danger that all they end up hearing is what sycophants think. There does seem to be an increasingly 1984esque rhetoric coming out at times.

I have seen the tweets & although I am not a particular fan of this person I actually believe it is wrong to block this persons account.
The person is not bullying or being abusive but as an opinion certain officials seem not to like, as said I don't care for this persons opinion, however they are not abusive & they have the right to an opinion like we all do without being blocked.

At worst this person is a little misguided in my opinion but no one can questions this persons commitment to rugby league in particular Salford rugby club.

I have a fairly good understanding of the situation. I can't believe some of your fans are defending your club actions here.

What do that tell you then? Are we all wrong too? She craves the attention and your now fullfilling her need so she'll be happy. 100% behind the club and MK here.

For the record, I'm neutral, fair enough if the dr wants to block her, I don't know why the club has, but it does seem harsh.

I have no strong opinions on the individual in question. However I'm well aware that she's a very polarising figure within our fan base. Some fans love her whereas others seem to hate her. From what I can gather though it seems Koukash has directed whoever runs the official @SalfordDevils twitter account to block her which is harsh I think.

Does anyone know the reasons why she has been blocked?

I imagine it has something to do with the negative news stories and the slating of Koukash?

Either that or not getting a place on the fans board.

It's all very embarrassing from Koukash.

We will all be forever grateful to him for saving the club but his craving of adulation is getting a bit tiresome for me. His Twitter account is one of the most cringeworthy things I have seen on there. Recently the negativity towards attendances has been a pr disaster. If I was a floating fan and saw the owner slating numbers I'd stay well away! Why spend 20 quid to go and watch a game with no other fans, and an angry owner?

As for Vickers, as soon as he posted photos slating the rfl about the Hock ban I couldnt take him seriously.

The biggest issue is that their ego's have gotten in the way in the situation in question. Personal feelings within a fan base is one thing, but for the owner to have a fan blocked by the club is a joke. I would happily pay for a social media training course for Koukash, Vickers and the whole tech team at Salford as its all a embarrassing mess.

I have raised this issue on the forum at least twice since he took over the club, the post he puts on are embarrassing. He can put what he wants on social media if that's how he see it but don't then block individuals who don't actually agree with you.

The thing is, he can do just that if he wants. Agree with it, or not, it doesn't matter.

My personal view on everything social media is one of apathy. I think there's great opportunity for Clubs to use it to real advantage, but none of them do. Why aren't Clubs sticking great moments/Skills/Hits onto Vine? Where they'll be seen and shared quicker, easier, and effectively than on Youtube or Vimeo? And that's just one gripe.

As far as MK and Vickers having an online presence it sometimes works but often is just an irrelevance. Something for RL fans to glance at for a titbit of nonsense, and nothing more. When MK puts positive things on Twitter like his Prescott horse, few are bothered. If he has a bottle of wine and writes something stupid it's the talking point for weeks. A sad reflection of societies obsessions and priorities in my opinion. A bit like this thread really. MK and the Club account block a user and it's pages of pointless diatribe of the woes and positives of doing so. My opinion on the matter means little as I don't really care for this side of the Sport, and at the end of the day, people can choose to do what they want.

If people can't see the scale of 'outrage' on display within social media, and how people love to get outraged at the drop of a hat over things that are not important. There's little hope for the future. Sure, I feel a bit sad for the person involved but it's hardly the end of the world is it? The mock outrage of others leaves a particularly poor taste in the mouth.

It's in the clubs best interests to have harmony amongst it's diehard supporters and my suggestion would be to sit down and resolve it. The situation has become a little embarrassing for the club. Why not ask the person in question to consider making a public apology for any offence caused by the article and move on?

The clubs actions could be interpreted by some as either childish, stubborn or egotistical and that's not a very good image to portray to your customers/potential customers.

I am not on anyone's side here, it just needs resolving for the benefit of the club, not individuals.

I have nothing to do with this person but I have seen a letter made public on social media apologizing to MK if they had offended the club & MK himself, the reply back to this person was short & to the point. This is basically why this debate as started & all it does if give the club negative press when we are trying to move the club forward.
Butcher, I agree social media as become the new lynch mob where you can rent a mob to spill out all the vermin you like. I have it set for rugby league up dates, overall it as a positive benefit, however again what is being played out over social media is only hurting the club I care about.

Please could we get back to supporting Salford. It appears this topic is taking over. Thursday is one of our most important games of the season.
