Abu Dhabi. It'll be a great place when they finish it...
Rain on the first night in AD. Utterly glorious, even if it was only for about 15 seconds!
The first approach up to the cricket ground. A really marvellous sight.
Ticking off games on the Nursery Ground and the Cricket Academy at the same time.
Watching Lancashire play in a Champion County fixture.
Shady spots at the back of the stand...
Being able to watch cricket in the evening from a grass bank.
Ramprakash failing with the bat. Twice.
PJ O'Reilly's.
Bangers and champ from the above. Not exactly local cuisine, but it was bloody lovely.
Walking past the City Store to find it completely empty. Twice.
Simon Kerrigan's bowling.
Standing in the "dug out" during one interval having a conversation with a few of the Lancs team.
Jibbing the VIP section and helping ourselves to the official trip's food and drink on the last day.
Jeff Evans, lovely bloke.
Ali. You need something whilst at the Zayed Cricket Ground? Ask Ali. He'll sort it, no problems at all.
Walking into two football grounds and the major tennis complex without being stopped.
The looks we got from the groundstaff at Al Wahda Club when taking pictures around the edge of the pitch. Obviously it's unusal to get tourists looking around!
Lancashire defeating the MCC. Best in England, best in the world?
Dead
The amount of holes in the ground and bits falling apart in AD. Not enough resources and time to keep up with it, clearly.
Being woken up at about 5am on the first morning by the local call to prayer. Manage to sleep through it every other time, mind.
The state of the cricket ground when you actually get into it. "Bit of a state" would be an understatement.
The pink ball. The players aren't keen on it, it goes dead fairly quickly and you can't see the old ball, neither in daylight nor under lights.
Going a**e over tit outside the ground one night leaving a rather large, deep graze on my knee.
Our taxi driver back into AD the night England lost to Sri Lanka being a Sri Lankan!
Not being able to get through the last set of gates at the National Stadium.
Heroes Bar. Awful.
The standard of driving in AD. Absolute carnage at times.
The Etihad terminal at AD airport. Disorganised, barely any information to let you know what's going on and no tannoy announcements.
