| many thanks to the brave hard lads of Leeds who had a drink in Swinton on the way to the match, dressed as monks these hard lads had a pint of Holts to build up their bravery. Then to demonstrate just how hard they were they decided to look for trouble, who could they fight with who would be more than a match for them to prove their bravery, who would step forward to tackle this group of brave lads?
Nobody so what did they do, they ripped a hanging basket off its bracket and threw it at an old man on a mobility scooter.
Leeds fans the bravest of the brave = SCUM
Rugby league or society doesn't want you so next time stay in your hovells on the other side of the hills.

| If they were all dressed as Monks HOW DO YOU KNOW THEY WERE LEEDS FANS ???
There were over 63 thousand people in the stadium say about 15 K from Siants maybe 25 K from Leeds
That leaves over 20 K neutrals and others bandwagoners and jumper inners.
Only a one eyed fool would blame ALL Leeds fans for the antics of these idiots.

| Simples really they got off a Leeds coach which had come off at the motorway junction near the pub, In fact that junction only allows you off the M60 there if travelling anti-clockwise ie travelling west coming from Yorkshire, Read before posting I state the incident happened in SWINTON not near Old Trafford.

and you also need to read more carefully.
The point I was making was that at least 20 THOUSAND people attended that game that were either neutrals or its the only game they attend all year.
Just cos some numnucks get off a coach from Leeds and behave like s doesnt make them Rhinos fans nor does it also follow then that all Leedas fans are morons or thugs.

Just a couple of things JJ. Actually, may I 1st point out that I'm somewhat a turkey fan of yours. Most of your posts are top. In this case I really do think your a little off the mark. 1st, how many sheep do you think actually live in Leeds never mind how many of them are being man-raped. Being a city, about as many as in Salford... 0. 2nd, I live in Littleborough at the far side of Rochdale. It's in Lancashire. It's full of idiots, thugs, perverts and curry houses. Oh, and a confirmed sheep shagging incident! (The curry houses aren't a problem to me though.) 7 miles up the road in Yorkshire is Todmorden which has far less idiots, thugs, perverts and curry houses. On top of that it is a quite wonderful little town. With a great feeling of good will and friendliness.
Hard to admit at 1st I know.
I'm sure there are lots of more appropriate reasons to pick on the Leeds folk. Their awful accent for 1.
Now please apply that JJ magic in a funnier and more accurate manner I beg of you sir!

| Thanks RP.......and welcome back to God's Holy Land
I must admit to being slightly "well oiled", and as such, seemingly lost the plot for a few moments back there.
I know all too well that our animal lovin friends are located throughout the country, not just in Yarkshire. It doesn't surprise me that Littleborough has it's fair share...........as it's very close to the hills
A prime example of [iinnercityanimalanuslovinviolentsuburbanism [/iis Walkden/Little Hulton.............take for instance Chris Charles No1 Fan, Young Danny, Michigan Red......and yours truly

This post reminds me of the excuses Hull fans always came up with when they were blamed for causing trouble. Hull fans would come up with the immortal line: "They are not Hull fans as they were not wearing replica shirts". Interesting that you defend Leeds fans, asking us not to tar you all with the same brush but you display no sympathy for the disabled person who was subject to a physical attack.
I am inclined to believe they are Leeds fans as I couldn't see Bigpev making it up.

| Good post, RP.
However:
Quote ="Red Preacher" 7 miles up the road in Yorkshire is Todmorden which has far less idiots, thugs, perverts and curry houses. On top of that it is a quite wonderful little town. With a great feeling of good will and friendliness. '"
That might be because Todmorden straddles the River Calder, which in old money (i.e. pre-1970s boundary changes) means that it is in reality half in Lancashire...
But you're quite right. Nob 'eds are prevalent throughout our fair land. In Surrey, where I live (it's me wife's fault) you can't chuck a brick without hitting someone with an ASBO.
And, as someone who grew up in Wogdin, I'll also have to agree with my fellow [iinnercityanimalanuslovinviolentsuburbanist [/i Mr Jalfrezi.

| The Leeds(?) fans involved in this ar scum but I would like to say that my brother took my lad to the game and with 63000+ (he reckons mostly Leeds fans) he had no bother at all. Saw a number of neutrals, all fans were mixing together and there were no problems as always. Lets not let a small minority give Rugby League fans from anywhere a bad name. Its the one and only time in the year that Old Trafford will see anything like this. So if the idiots involved are reading this (although by their behaviour I doubt if they can) feel free to stay at the football side of your city and leave the rugby to those who can behave themselves.

Why 'stay at the football side' of Leeds? That itself is tarring everyone with the same brush because of a few.
I do love the holier than thou attitude of RL fans, though. You'd think violence has never happened at RL games ever.

Fully agree GT.
Never seen trouble at any RL game
Lets blame football fans, it was bound to be their fault.

Aparently a different story after the game, pretty decent kick off near the tram stop by all accounts - let's call it natural selection.
