| Heh. Some people with faces like smacked s there. Some muppet came on here recently to say [iwe're[/i delusional, but to reckon that a team one place and two points below you (at start of play) is somehow 'there to be taken' takes a special kind of delusion, particularly when you take current form into account.
I thought Hull shifted the ball around quite well with Houghton at dummy half, and I think our defence really stood up well. We should have won by more though. Hull are a very poor, garbage, pants team who are nothing special and were there to be taken.

| Have you seen the league table?
You are in 12th for a reason, you are not that great, neither are we, fc were clueless for twenty minutes at the start, the same at Wakefield two weeks ago so I wouldnt go thinking your defence was anything special, we couldn't open a bag if crisps in the first half
Both teams would have been looking at the game last night as winnable, out of two poor teams you edged it, had linehams try in the second half been given who knows what the result would have been

| The league table doesn't give a true reflection of our current performances. After beating Bradford we lost a tight game at Warrington, we then were beaten in the last seconds (literally) at Cas then we smashed Huddersfield on their own turf before dominating yourselves for 60 minutes last night.
Were a much better side than our 12th position indicates.

Yup. Hence the reference to current form which seems to have escaped our contributor from the distant east. However, s/he did - finally - use the phrase so popular with fans whose team loses a game they'd convinced themselves they were going to win: "two poor teams". It's shorthand for "Waaahhh!! We lost and I wanted us to win and I thought we [iwould[/i win!! How can I save face? I know! I can convince myself that they're as crap as we are!!"

In this situation it does. We are not IMO the 12th best team in the league at the moment.

| The table suits whatever you want to believe. As far as i'm concerned it didn't lie when Cas were relegated and it doesn't lie now that we have been in the top 4 all season. You are where you are, get over it.

| We'll see where we finish to decide on this! At the moment were in good form but counts for nothing if we don't beat Hull KR on Sunday. I believe if we beat them then top8 is a serious possibility!

| Fortunately, Mike87/Red League has gone over onto the Hull forum to hold our end up and show that we can be every bit as dickish as they are. He's ace.

In fact, can you tell us anything, or will you just do your usual trick of disappearing when someone questions what you say?

| Taking selective quotes out of context is irrelevant. I said to the butcher I apologised over the "garbage" remark, as it was more aimed at my complete disappointment over FC and their constant rubbish they serve up. I maintain, Salford on saturday night were nothing special at all, at best average. If you think otherwise then fair play, but I would suggest you have a lot of improving to do yourselves.

| I don't think we played at our best but we defended well until we went 19-0 up with us going to sleep on a few occasions maybe Hull stepped it up or maybe we switched off who knows probably a bit of both! I thought it was a cracking game with some big hits, great tries and 2 teams probably in a false position on paper! But as they say the table doesn't lie!!

If we win on Sunday and other results go our way over the weekend (Wigan beat Hull, Wire beat Widnes, Catalans beat Wakefield) we'll move up to 10th place, 1 point behind Hull KR (9th), 2 points behind Widnes (8th).
The fact we play all the teams in the mix for the top 8 could work in our favour. We'd obviously have to win more then we lose.
It could also be to our detriment if we lose a few though.
All pretty obvious I know but them's the facts.

Said it at the game the other day but I think we'll end up one win short of the 8, for me a good indication how we have improved towards the back end of this season would be if we ended up with a positive points difference, currently we are exactly 100 points down so we'd need to win on average by 15 points each of the remaining games.

| The table doesn’t lie, and we have been through it this year with all the changes at the club, but it finally appears to be looking a little better for us.
I’d be a lot more concerned if we had started the season like a house on fire and then lost our last 8 games. The team have eventually got a bit of momentum and it’s vital now they keep it going until round 27. It’s looking unlikely we’ll scrape into the eight, but what matters above all else is that we keep improving and gaining more cohesion and confidence to take into 2015. What we should be aiming for longer term is that we make the top 8 come round 13 next year when the table splits.
It’s been a disappointing year so far and we have seen a couple of clubs playing way beyond expectations, although next year is a clean slate and these clubs may just have peaked a little too soon.

I'm not sure how the quotes were taken out of context. People over on the Hull forum were saying daft things, like how Salford were there for the taking. How? Salford are a team that had already beaten you at the KC this season, were one place and two points below you, playing at home, showing a huge improvement in form over the past few weeks culminating in a very comfortable and dominant away win over a team in - I don't know - fourth was it? who had won 9 of their last 10 home games. How were they there to be taken? There is a context here. In the past, people have generally ignored us. Now they no longer do, and it's apparent that they tend to say daft things about us. I think I preferred it when we were being ignored.
As for us being at best average, I'm not sure how you can make such a judgement. We beat you by one point more than the current league leaders beat you earlier in the season, which suggests they're average too. None of us (well, none of us bar Mike87/Red League) are daft enough to go bragging about ourselves. We are where we are in the league because we were dire earlier in the season. We're like a different team now, but there is obviously still room for improvement. Those improvements are being made, though, and we can see them every week.
I also think you're being harsh on your own team. We've seen worse at Barton this year. You seem to lack a bit of guile in the halves, and maybe a bit of power in the forwards (although the new slimmed down Feka Lite looked good). Danny Houghton is very sharp at dummy half, and you've got some pace in the backs. I think you're also being harsh on your coach. Like Iestyn, he's inherited a squad of players that he didn't choose and it may be hampering the way he wants the team to play. We're fortunate enough to have got some of the players earmarked for next season with us now, and it's made a huge difference. The people who were expertly telling us that Iestyn wasn't the right man for the job because we kept losing now seem to be conspicuous by their absence (another example of the daft stuff people have been saying about us). The difference is, he's now building [ihis[/i squad. You maybe need to wait until next season when Lee Radford has got the players he wants in before judging him.
