Quote ="Original Salford City Red"GT, Peel have actually shown that they have Salfords best interest at heart with their sponsorship which with next season, which I understand that they have signed up for will take the amount to £1.2 million over six years.
They could have easily walked away when Red City had their trouble but they didn't and I call that having the clubs interest at heart.'"
Peel's sponsorship of the club will be for the same reasons as any other company sponsors any other club - for exposure of their own company.
And methinks the main reason they've stuck with the ground development is that it is vital to the rest of their developments in Salford. It's in their best interests to ensure the ground is built.
Quote ="Original Salford City Red"One of the things that I have concerns over is not whether or not Peel ditch us, it is the way that some people are continually looking to run the club down at a time that is critical for all concerned.
Thankfully there are some of us who have been around for a long time who try and look at the big picture which can only get better from now on,hopefully.'"
Maybe the reason people are 'running the club down' is that we know it's a critical period for the club, hence they need to get things right. There's far too many basic errors being made at the moment that are driving people away. It's all well and good having the positivity of the new ground, but unless we get the foundations of the club solid and get the simple things right, then it's all going to be a big waste of time.
