| How do you think the RFL heirarchy pay for their hotels and meals and flights etc. I am sure the clubs are reimbursed their general expenses though

They partly service £700k 'investments' in Crusaders.
Seriously, I assume they go to the RFL to pay for the stadium hire and contribute to their fund to fund the game. Same as the GF and CC Finals, once they have dished out the prize money.

Well that'll help , have a random draw , so some clubs might get a derby , some won't , the attendance at MM is lower as a result , but the RFL give the SL clubs some more money

It would effectively be a 'friendly' fixture, counting as a bye for the SL club - which would be necessary with an odd number of clubs.

You can't have an odd number of games with an odd number of teams in the league. It physically doesn't fit.
You can have an even number of teams with an odd number of games (like we have now), or an odd number of teams with an even number of games (like the NRL had), but if you have the latter you can't have a MM event because it would mean some clubs would have one less home game (and I don't care what anyone says about alternative methods for this result, the clubs WILL NOT go for that!).
An odd number of teams with the Magic Weekend simply isn't an option.

yes, obviously but you could have an odd number of teams (say 15) with MM if the RL drew lots for seven games and the team to miss out automatically gets gifted two points for a win - not a brilliant solution but a way round a problem - but in practical terms a no-no

"Giving" a team two points is not a solution at all.

Full Juristiction if the said club(s) want to be part of the sport.......doesn't matter who owns them...clubs have to tow the line and obey whatever rules the RFL have in place that week.
News International are part of the TV consortium that pay to show the NRL.......Melborne storm thought they were invincible....they weren't!

i'd like to think your right, but i dont.
i buy programmes,i buy the LE,i see info from other outlets and everything point to one thing and that is..the rfl are an information gathering organisation.
when they've gathered that info they then pass it bacck to the chairmen of the clubs in SLE and then they make the decisions.
thats how it looks to me.

....there was a meeting in 2005 where Mr lewis made it clear to the SL Chairmen what would happen if London were not immediately voted back into SL after our run in with the Tax man....we were voted back in. This would point to the RFL running the game and having power over the ESL Chairmen that they can wield if they need to.
...as for your choice of reading material....even though I only started watching league in 2002....I quickly learnt that the RL press is more like reading the beano....except the beano has less made up stories in it
If you are looking for the true source of ultimate power in English RL.....I suggest you look towards Brentford Middlesex.....the home of SKY TV.
SKY TV are the crack cocaine of English RL.......once hooked, it is often very painful and very difficult to kick the habit and 1,2 million each a year is a hell of a habit!

![Shocked icon_eek.gif](//www.rlfans.com/images/smilies//icon_eek.gif) - so the club went from escaping one winding up petition, courtesy of a third party, Sir Rodney Walker, paying their tax bill (though this has since turned out to have been a loan), and carried on pocketing the national insurance and VAT it collected on behalf of the tax man (ok, some of the NI is almost certainly their employers' contributions, not just the employees' contributions collected by the club
