Saints can stop themselves this year. Travelling to Aus for what will be 2 tough very physical games. Likely to be injuries and fatigue from the travelling. If they do pick up the injuries I wouldn't be surprised to see a slow start to the season.

I agree with you with regards the fatigue, jet lag and possible injuries but if Saints really want to win this game, they will need to be playing at their peak performance at this early stage of the 2023 season.

It will be then very difficult to play the rest of the season at that level and to peak again for the Super League play-offs.

I didn't really rate Woolf that much who in my view just took credit for the work Holbrook did. It will be interesting to see if Wellens is Cunningham-esque or if he actually has what it takes (which shouldn't be very much if you listen to our resident St Helens troll).

My sources tell me that the St Helens coaching staff cannot believe how fit and sharp the players are when they started pre season. Compared to mutterings from Wigan at how unfit and unmotivated they seemed to be. 5 in a row is in the bag. With Lewis Murphy rejecting all contract talks with Wakefield because he wants to sign for St helens next season and the 2 most talented young players in England, Robertson and Whitby making their first team debuts next season, I think 6 in a row will be on the cards

Another prediction from RLFANS premier analyst..me. Wakefield will not finish bottom. No where near. It will be between Leigh and Salford. I know Leigh fans are getting giddy because they beat Leeds but Leeds are a bottom 8 team. I’ve been saying this for weeks that Leeds are nowhere near as good as their fans think they are. Those of us that actually know rugby league know that Leeds are really not that good.
