Think Saints finished 6th when it was a top 8 play off in 2017 and Cunningham got sacked after that. Saints have been in the top 4 for 24 seasons out of 27 seasons so far, there average league position is 2.4. They have finished top on 9 occasions.

Cunningham was unlucky in the playoffs. One year (2015 I think) Saints were robbed at Leeds. Pretty sure 2016 against Wire was controversial as well.

Who knows what coping mechanisms fans of those clubs have. We know how messed up Wilkin still is, why should fans be different?

They're really bad at constructing teams. The players they sign, on an individual level, usually are quality players ability-wise, but all too often they don't fit in, don't have the right mentality or even worse underperform in Warrington's environment. They've never really moved on from the mid-2000s era when they'd just got the new stadium, were getting ambitious and started signings 'names' Gleeson et-al. They peaked in 11/12 under Tony Smith, and ever since have had a soft underbelly.

I'd forgotten the game completely but just watched it back on YT. Ryan Hall was awarded a try where he blatantly dropped the ball on 68 mins which gave the game to Leeds.

Either way Leeds had a good run in those years so can't deny they knew how to play in the big games.
