How did Hanbury get on in front of a hostile Stade Gilbert Brutus crowd on a sunny Saturday afternoon? The answer is not very well, as Catalans won easily. But I guess that doesn't count as real rugby since it didn't happen in Australia or the North of England.

He's an outstanding talent. Probably my favourite non Leeds player. Hopefully France can find a. Few more talents like him in different positions.

Jamie Shaul is also better.

Escare is a quality little player who is good to watch. Never understood why Catalans brought in Webb. I know he needs to work on some areas but he is good to watch.

Morgan Escare just scored two more tries yesterday against Bradford (including a length of the field). So it will be interesting to see his standing in the Opta rankings next week.

Morgan Escare's 2 tries against Bradford brings his tally up to 13 tries with 10 try assists, the second highest try tally of all players in Super League, just behind Tommy Makinson on 14, and equal with Ryan Hall. Escare had made 151 carries, and run 1235 metres for an average of 8.17 metres per carry. Escare has made 88 tackles and missed 27.

Behind him among full backs is 16th placed Jamie Shaul with 8 tries and 3 assists. Shaul has made 175 carries over 1534 metres for an average of 8.77 metres per carry. Shaul has made 63 tackles and missed 9.

Overall this suggests to me that of the two Escare is a more potent attacking full back while Shaul is better defensively.

Escare suffers from the disadvantage of small stature. If he could bulk up physically his defence would likely improve to the level of most of his rivals.

Escare is typical of a lot, if not all, junior/young backs coming through in the last 5 years or so in that he looks good putting the ball down over the line or going on a mazy broken field run, but when asked to do the real tough stuff they don't seem as interested.
He's good, but I wouldn't put him in the top 5 fullbacks in SL. As with most things though, this could change.
