Indeed. Saints won the league half, with Sale scoring no points. Sale won the union half, with saints scoring no points. Both scored the same no of tries, iirc, and the difference was one missed conversion.

Shocking tbf, you'd expect union players to do better at league than league players in union. No pointless technicallity in league, as long as the players can run ... oh.
Didn't the league team stop getting invited to middlesex 7s because they kept winning it (though union claim it's due to re-scheduling it to clash with the busy period of the SL season)

Yes they did.I remember Bradford about 8 years ago(i think) going down there on the friday night just after they got hammered of Saints at Knowsley road and beating all the yawnion teams in the Middlesex sevens the very next day.  |
