| Quote ="JB Down Under"not purely, but partly (if the rumours re backer are true). Having just a 3 year license with someone guaranteed to go down means that you are a good chance of excluding private investment. Who is going to pump alot of their money in to a business with only a guaranteed 3 year commercial life?
Plenty of clubs are surviving so it is not entirely a problem but for the weaker clubs it may well be.'"
BS.
franchising gives clubs certainty to attract private investment
wakey have had 3 years to fullfill their franchise promises and failed.
your club has managed to live up to its franchise promises.
heck hull kr have improved their ground more since theyve entered SL than wakey have since 1950.
for the game of RL to progress clubs have to improve
some will and some wont, there are always winners and losers in life.

Yes in my opinion, a decent kicker was needed and Brough fitted the bill
What i cant see is us going for another half now, brough, brown, robinson, lunt and fooey already hence no need for obst

| we don't have franchises we have 3 year licenses. A world of differenc eif you are a millionaire thinking of putting some of your ill gotten gains into a sports club.
I agree re HKR doing well to improve CP but Wakey intend to move to a new ground, I am sure if they had decided 10 years ago to stay where they are and improve they would have done so bit by bit. TBH if Hull etc hadn't got sugar daddy councils to build new stadiums they would likely be also still be playing out of belle vue esq stadia.

What finance have Salford got for the stadium????
You mean £20m pounds given to 'them' by the council and then a return payment of £10m back from Peel in staged payments as the development progresses meaning that Peel put in £10m the council put in £10 and all Salford do is give up their existing ground for a new one! I can't see any finance at all raised by Salford's Ltd company and if there is, it will be small change in comparison.
I am not having a go at Salford, Salford Council or Peel, the deal is the deal and if you are given it, you take it with both hands. The only thing that has held Salford up is the PI, otherwise this would have been done 2 years ago.
Does this situation sound familiar to you? It sounds familiar to me, just different timings!
The problem with you mate is you talk utter, utter rubbish!

pull your head in, I'm not having a dig at FC, we are both lucky to have a council that supports the cities clubs and had some family silver to sell off to pay for it. Wakey don't have that luxury, nor do they have the luxury of having a soccer or RU club with a new stadium they can borrow. If Hull CC didn't have the KC company to sell reality is FC would still be struggling in a run down Boulevard and be in a similair stadium situation to Wakefield. There but the grace of god go I and all that.

So who owns the ground of the team you support and if not the team do they pay rent?
I think you'll also find that Wrexham Village are the holding company for both Crusaders and Wrexham FC so all three (both teams and the ground) are owned by the same company (sadly for the football fans who fought long and hard to maintain the club ownership of the ground once before)

I don't have any 'vested interest' as this term does have a strict legal definition (despite 'the' Cas Forum members speculating that I must do) but I do have a strong interest... and I think that is what you mean!
To be fair I have strong interests in all ground developments, I just don't live close to the others!
It is just that dally clearly has issues with Wakefield (for whatever warped reason, I have no interest really) and that is up to them, but it was just yet another post full of rubbish with no basis in fact at all used to justify their clear hatred of Wakefield. That is all really!
Of course as tb has posted before, it would rule out 80% of all posts on here if they had to have basis in fact the majority of the time!

Thanks Derwent for the penitent (edit: clearly I meant pertinent, but maybe penitent is a better word ![Wink icon_wink.gif](//www.rlfans.com/images/smilies//icon_wink.gif) ) information. The rumour about HMRC being hacked off by the RFL big-style would appear to be adding to Wakefield's many woes!

Can't see Leigh Centurions being allowed to use it for security against a 'loan', let alone even thinking of using it.
Moss and Roberts seem to be the two most unpopular men in Wrexham and having read alot of the history and views of very many people which seem to number far more than a minority, their popularity or lack of it seems justified. How different are they to the original owner of Celtic Crusaders?
