| Kinda boring just having it in the heartlands.
Said it last time the world cup was here and saying it again why not take SL games on the road. Go to Bristol, go to the East Midlands, go to the Southwest, go to London.
Sounds like now they have just given up on actually hosting a world cup which could engage people from all over the country.
Are Newcastle going to get a game? Probably not so why is Magic Weekend held there every year?

except maybe a RU one, there have been 4 RL nations from a relatively limited number of WC competitors, contrast that to the RU world cup and there have only been 5 nations to make the final from vastly more competing countries. Basically you're full of it !

The final should also be at Wembley.

You really can’t compare our World Cup to a RU one there’s is far superior for a start all the home nations are actually competitive unlike ours were they just fill them with second rate Aussies people were raving about Tonga last time but half the team had played for New Zealand and the other half probably will at some point Italy was full of Aussies Lebanon also there are five nations that play RL that actually use players from there countries so you go away and bury your head in the sand

Yes you can compare, in precisely the thing you mentioned Quote ="fun time frankie""again as always there’s nothing more predictable than a RL World Cup'"
I nor you mentioned which was superior, you were talking about how the same old the finalist were, in that given the number of competing nations the rugby union world cup is even more predictable than the RLWC.
As for players from other countries, again you prove you know nothing about rugby, go through the teams in the last RUWC, even teams like Japan have 'foreigners' playing for them as do every single team in the competition. Given the vastly huge amount of players and competitive national comps why do they have to do this? Oh wait, it's only RL that can be slated which isn't even anything to do with your comment in the first place is it!
Why do you even bother following rugby league if all you have is to slag it off and then make statements that when found out to be not true/accurate you change tack.

Ok as you seem to think it’s exactly the same compare the amount of Aussies in the home nations in RL it’s about 90% in RU it’s about 5-10% but if the facts get in the way and turn into a victim and say everybody’s picking on RL I love RL but the facts are internationally it’s a joke and absolutely miles behind RU

In 1992 we had a World Cup final Great Britain vs Australia, held at Wembley, which attracted 73,631 fans. That success in the national capital can and ought to be repeated.

And in 2013 we had a WC final Australia v New Zealand (so not even featuring a home nation). That was played at Old Trafford Manchester that attracted 74,468.

Oh dear......
1. In 8 tournaments, they've had 4 different winners. In our first 8 tournaments we had 2 winners...in the following 7 we've added 1 more name...let's continue to compare the comps shall we?
2. 72% of the players at the RLWC 2017 were born in either PNG, NZ, France, England or Australia...so 9 X 23 man squads is 207 players of which 47 were born in the country they represented.....6 each...SIX! No matter if Japan had 10 men in their 31 man squad (the largest contingent of any of the RWC 15 Squads)they still had 21 from their own country who play in their own domestic league.......last years "Tongan" breakthrough featured 5 Tongan born players in their squad and 16 Kiwis and 2 Aussies. There were bigger street parties in South Auckland than Tonga....and a number of the "Tongans" used to play for the Kiwis and not one of these "tongans" plays in their domestic league......let's continue to compare the comps shall we?
3.The 2017 RLWC in Australia, the country with the dominant domestic competition had an average attendance of 13,650...... The 2015 RWC in England, a country with a strong domestic competition had an average attendance of 51,000+...that's 4k more per game than the recent FIFA world cup.......let's continue to compare the comps shall we?
4. The 2013 RLWC Semi-Final was watched by fewer viewers on BBC than the Ireland v All Blacks Union "friendly" the following day....... When England made the 2003 RUWC Final in Australia, 13,000,000 people in the UK got up early to watch the final.......THIRTEEN MILLION.........let's continue to compare the comps shall we?
5. Australia have featured in all but one RLWC final and every one in the last 50 years.....no team in Union has even made 3 finals in a row, let alone 14......let's continue to compare the comps shall we?
6. RLWC Final IN AUSTRALIA AND FEATURING AUSTRALIA had viewing figures of 1.4 million.......Japan v Samoa in RWC 2015 was watched by 25,000,000 in Japan.
.....let's continue........
...tell you what, let's not, because the Union comp is not as predictable as you'd like to make out and it absolutely and utterly dwarfs us in relevance to the countries taking part. Even the Aussies, who hosted the bloody RLWC 2017 couldn't be bothered and without the NZ/Tongan attendances, the event would have been even flatter. Teams like Georgia and Japan in Union are never going to win it, but they do get the chance of a scalp, like Japan taking South Africa in 2015 in Brighton......watched by 29,000 in Brighton and Millions on ITV.

I get the hatred that some RL fans have for Union, the same way that RL in wales will always be strangled at birth because of the League raids in the 70's and 80's......but to compare the RLWC with the RWC is just stupid.....it dwarfs our comp...even their world rankings change regularly, whilst we will ALWAYS have the same top 3......even with the Kiwi second string masquerading as Tonga and the Aussie b team as Fiji
The set themselves a target when they won the right to host 2015 of 2,500,000 tickets......they missed it by 22,195. We set ourselves a target of 1,000,000 which has already been reduced to 750,000 three years out........chalk and cheese....chalk and cheese.

I’ve never got why RL fans hate RU and vice versa I’m a RL fan but will watch RU I don’t think it’s as good but it has improved as a spectacle in the last 20 years To me RL has always been a club game and RU an international game

The history of the split. Northern England being deeply entrenched in unionism/socialism vs the middle class capitalist and conservatism of the south. Old habits die hard.

| You can be a RL fun and simply not like the sport of rugby union and vice versa. The idea that if you like RL then you should also watch RU is ridiculous and the same if the roles were reversed.

I don’t mind RU as a game, it’s slower and there’s a hell of a lot of standing around doing nowt, but it’s watchable.
It’s the sport I hate, the institution. The banning of RL in France “rugby league XIII is a game for rogues” they said there; the total non-recognition if rugby greats from Wales because they were league players (some couldn’t even get jobs back in Wales when they moved home after retirement); the Welsh racists not giving black rugby players a chance to play and refused to let them play for Wales so they came to league and could never play union again; the middle class belittling of our sport by the posh buggers who love ruggers in England... There’s the same rivalry of the two codes in Aus, but in Aus RL wins hands down.

lol.....RL in Australia is like the teenager who won the lottery.........they have not a single clue as to what to do with the game. Onion on the other hand has started to realise that it needs to be smarter....... it'll never be big in NSW.......but everywhere else it is just as big and internationally.......well, let's just say tht the Wannabees sell more jerseys than the Kangaroos......meanwhile, in Australia LITE........there's 2 codes and we all get on fine thanks

| Thugby Yawnion is pretty well dead in WA mate. Twiggy's experiement maybe about keeping the seat warm, but when he's dumped a bit of coin he'll get bored.
I can't understand why he isn't behind a WA NRL bid.
