| Despite all the strange decisions, 2 finger salutes etc etc, it was a cracking game. My congrats go to Wigan, commiserations to Leeds.

| The only refereeing calls I have a problem with today are the decision that it went out off Burrow, which was frankly bizarre given the view the touch judge had of it and the ref ignoring the attempted spear tackle.

Yes it should have been. Players can live with that, just one of them things. The touch judge call when it came off for Leu Lai's try, even if it did come off Burrows, he didn't play for it. Awful.

In the Semi-Final every time Wigan asked the ref to go the the screen he did. Leeds (correctly) asked the ref to check this decision on the screen and didn't!
Did you not have a problem with the forward pass for Lima's second try?

I think if you achually look at the game with a clear head you'll see leeds wer in the game for 20 minutes and thats being generous. The only surprise is Wigan wern't out of sight in the first half.

Nah, the kind of thing that a referee can be excused for missing. I didn't even notice it until the replay.

| It's funny how everyone is getting their knickers in a twist about sam and nothing mentioned about the behaviour of some of the leeds players at the end of the game when the whistle went. Yet again it shows how easily people onle see what they want to.

Must admit I'd turned it off by that point. What did they do?
It's not a 'Tomkins is good, we're all jealous, let's hate on Tomkins' issue and I wish people would stop trying to make out that it is everytime he showers himself in shame.

| I thought Wigan absolutely dominated the opening 35 minutes with Leeds getting the better of us in the final five. The first twenty of the second half were even stevens IMO, with the final twenty just being edged by Leeds.
But the ability of Wigan to hang in there and grind out results, is there for all to see. Even when on the ropes and looking knackered were able to cling on for victory.

This is after the classic Wigan thing of flopping on a player when he’s tackled. Totally uncalled for.

| The conduct post-hooter was poor. Almost always, however bad the calls, the two teams shake hands at the end of the game then one team whoop and holler and the other cry in their beer.
The handbags at full time did neither team, nor a fantastic game, justice.

| It pains me as a Leyther to say it but Wigan were the best team , granted some of the refs decision were bollox and the game got a bit scrappy at times . And as for Sam Tomkins and his gesture , he showed them one more finger than I would have , so I say " Get in there young lad and show them boo boy pillocks you don't give a f@k " .
And as for laying on your talking out your ar$e !! , I watch a lot of the NRL and every tackle they take the full quota allowed , while our teams are tackled and up and playing it in half the time , so watch out how lying on is done legally every time on fleece the Northern folk Bonfire night scam .
It's enough to make you spit in your Lobby praising the pies

I suppose you could say:
Classic Tomkins acting a tool.
Many things happen during any game: flops, late tackles, verbals, handbags etc. Flashing the V's at the opposing fans, directly in front of the camera on National TV, in our top event (being viewed worldwide) is rather childish. We need all the support and sponsors we can get so hey lets give the nations biggest pro RU media channel a chance to show us in a poor light.
Poor judgement, deserves a fine/ban, and I would say the same if it had been a Leeds player like McGuire. I am a neutral.
Incidentally, fans can chant what they want (within the law) but players have a duty not to bring the game into disrepute.

| It all seems like bad decisions that went against Leeds. What about Leeds second try! Ablett chucks the ball through his legs, didn't regain his feet and Leeds eventually scored in the corner! Wigan should have had a penalty on half way which would have gave us another great position to attack the Leeds line! At 16-4 half time Wigan have it won! Watch the replay and see for yourselves, Wigan when we have hit the front very rarely give away a lead! Maybe questions should be raised from the Leeds fans and players of how they only scored once between 40 and 60 mins when they chucked everything including the kitchen sink at Wigan.

I think you will find that Ablett was subject to interference as he wanted a quick play the ball could have been a penalty to Leeds but the ref let the play go on. Quite a lot of play the balls from Wigan and some from Leeds were illegal rolling the ball back and not actually placing the foot on top of the ball.
The reason Leeds didn,t score between 40 and 60 minutes, was because Wigan seemed to have had an invisible get out of jail card from the TJ's and Ref. This final will go down as one of the worst inept performances by officials in a final.
In saying the above, I still think Wigan would have won this game albeit in a different set of circumstances, instead of a hollow indignified one.

| Wigan were the best team on the day and deserved to win even if they got a couple of dodgy calls. Had Leeds won it it would have been against the balance of play. I thought Leeds did well to 'rediscover' some rugby skills after being left at the starting gate, but they never really looked convincing. Unusualy inaccurate day with the boot by Sinfield also cost them.

What are your thought's on the matter when Lee Briers flicked the 'V' to the Leeds fans in a play off game only two years ago?
No? I thought not.
Tomkins was wrong, but if you was him and you were booed for wearing an England shirt with pride, would it not be possible for you to forget your status and public icon figure for a moment whilst caught up in the heat and passion of probably rugby leagues most passionate contest and maybe vent your anger/protests towards them?
I don't condone it but surely some people can see why he's done it?
People need to stop clutching at straws and get over it quickly!

So the reason leeds couldn't get over the wigan line is because they had a get out of jail card? Nothing to do with wigan having great defence and aptitude to hold on to a narrow lead! Wigan never went behind in the game so we can't say that we had a get out of jail card at all! The leuluai try was clearly a try, there was no gap between ball and arm, benefit of the doubt was the correct call, the only call leeds can feel aggrieved about is the kick which went off charnley, however wigan would have had leeds in a great position!
And abblett made no attempt to regain his feet and made no attempt to play the ball, should ha have been a wigan penalty every day of the week!
Anyway I've had enough of debate! The super league and challenge cup are both covered in cherry and white ribbons and not blue and amber! That is all that matters to me! Wigan are back and the rest of the rl world don't like it!
