There is a total overseas limit of five players you can have, which is any combination of quota/non-federation trained players you like.

Quota players are Australians/New Zealanders that don't have exemptions/other passports like Mason. Non-fed players are what were kolpak players.

Last year you could have a maximum five quota players and one non-federation trained player as your overseas limit.

The reason KR will be able to have Mason with him being non-quota, but non-fed trained is because they'll have a quota player that was here before the new rules came in, so he'll be classed as Fed-trained also. Therefore they would have had (an example, not actually calculated) 5 quota players, and 4 non-fed trained players.

Phil Bailey was an example at Wigan, he was on the quota but counted as fed-trained as he was here before the new rules.

From what I know, KR's quota will consist of:

Green, Dobson, Webster, Mason and Clinton. Vella, Galea, Fisher, Newton, Lovegrove all don't count AFAIK or may be Webster off and one of the others on. Either way that's pretty much it.

There's still the stipulation of only 5 "quota players" as well.

You can be a quota player but still be fed-trained, just as you can be non-quota but non-fed trained.

But Vella, Newton, Lovegrove and Fisher would all have been classed as non-quota due to passports previously I belive (Vella-maltese, Newton-UK, Lovegrove-UK, Fisher-UK).

As I clearly explained above, people like Lovegrove have exemptions so are classified as FED TRAINED.

Mason has a passport that makes him NON FED TRAINED and not just a quota player.

Your allowed 5 quota players, and your allowed 5 non-fed trained players.

When all of the exemptions are out of the way, it will go down to just 5 non-fed trained players, that's the aim.

Ever so sorry I don't cream over England/ GB or whatever the powers that be put together.If you think all paying fans who do not have a passion for the international game should stop supporting their clubs,you will then see what state the game would be in

actually comparing the Int RL attendances compared to what the overall club attendances are every week I would suggest that there are far far more fans who care more about their team than the Int game.

There's a difference between caring more about your team and 'not giving a fig about the national team'. ATEOTD for our sport to grow we need a strong England RL team.
