| Quote ="tb"Perhaps I've not been paying attention, but - aside from things bandied about on message boards - I've not seen a source for
a) the sum owed to the RFL being £700k
b) the debt being a loan, per se - the RFL/Crusaders statements before Christmas intimated that most if not all of it was owed as a result of the secondment of RFL personnel etc
c) that it's to be repaid over four years
d) that it's to be repaid over 10 years (another 'fact' cited in posts on these boards)
e) that only half of it is to be repaid (another 'fact' cited in posts on these boards)
What I have seen is supposition, guesswork and hearsay (from a 'reliable' source who can't be named for their own good) posted and then repeated as fact: in much the say way that Ted Richardson's statement that Wakefield had lost out of £350k due to be paid to the club by the Newmarket developer on receipt of outline planning permission + WTWRLFC's satement that they need to raise £500k via shares by the end of this month to secure the immediate future of the club became an 'established fact' that Wakey owe HMRC £350k and the taxman will close the club down if he doesn't get that sum by 1 February.
Don't get me wrong: I'm not saying the sum owed to the RLFC by Crusaders i[isn't[/i £700k or that the repayment terms [i aren't[/i X, Y or Z - I'm saying that the only statements from the RFL or Crusaders are that the club owed the RFL a sum of money and reached agreement on repayment with the RFL as a condition of competing in SL this year, but I've not seen any details of sums or what the repayment terms are.'"
RFL have said in this article its loans.
[urlhttp://www.leaderlive.co.uk/news/97669/what-s-going-on-at-wrexham-s-racecourse-ground-.aspx[/url
A spokesman for the Rugby Football League said: “The loans to Crusaders are a commercial issue between the directors of Crusaders and the RFL and it would be wrong of us to discuss details of it."

Also reports in the Western mail and Yorkshire post re amount and HMRC involvement.
The 4 year repayment makes more sense than 10 as for the 4 years the RFL can make deductions from SL money.

the wakey board say if £500K is raised the 'donors' wil get 50% of the club. This values the club at £1m. Do you think this means wakey will get the remaining money for BV? Or that money has been accounted for? Do you think wakey,as they stand, are worth £1m?

Are you referring to 1948 when Bridgend RL had a three year lease prior to a compulsory purchase by the Council? As far as I am aware the RFL have never owned the Brewery Field.

Ten days since the bod announced the £500K scheme and there are more questions than answers. A few wakey, and non wakey, posters are ripping this sorry scheme to pieces. Now kear admits that he will be at least 2 players down - on what was going to be a weak squad in the first place!
Never mind putting £1K into 'Ted's tombola' would any rational person even buy a season ticket?
Poor John. He could have been in the south of France coaching a decent squad in a good set up. Instead, with all the subtlety of the worse Carry On film, his package is being sold to raise funds. Could such a sales idea have the approval of Ted (Kenneth Connor) and Diane (Hattie Jacques)?

How come you "know" so much about Wakefield Trinity Wildcats RLFC?
Do you work for them directly or indirectly?
OR,
and this is just a guess
Your posts about Wakefield are supposition at best and not based on actual truthful information that is already available in the public domain.`

Like many wakey posters you associate stating facts about trin as..hate or asking pertinent q's about the finances as...hate. And on this thread I suggested that going into c1 could stabilise the club and then with newmarket they could push for SL for 2015 +. Depends on who is giving the valuation!
It's obvious you don't think it is, which is fine.
A "things" value is only what someone is prepared to pay for it.
It's like my current property, it's value is ZERO
Why, because I'm not selling and no one is buying it.
If someone wants to buy my property now, and I'm not in the market to sell, but they insist then my valuation of my property is £10,000,000.
If I ever decide to sell, then a value will be put on it that I believe somone may pay and maybe someone will agree or not. If they do they may buy , if they don't they may either try to get my "valuation" down or go elsewhere.
I don't know enough about the Wakefield situation to STATE one thing or another about their current financial position and I would suggest very few KNOW the whole picture, which happens in businesses worldwide.
What, years of experience has shown me is that just because someone says it is so dosn't mean it is.
What "newspapers" write is generally opinion and usually biased at that.
Everybody tells the truth on the internet!!!!
Chamberlain had a piece of paper for "peace in out time" signed by a very honest open politician, and look how truthful that was and the papers/radio of the time were full of it!!!
Oh and I forgot to add, that back in 2001, the saviours of Keighley Cougars promised that the club would never get into that position again!!!!
and what happened!!!!!!

| A poster asks "why are you worried about Trinity".
Well I'm a Wigan supporter and I'm worried about Trinity.
Worried that such a great club is in a financial mess that not even starting the season is being talked about.
I wouldn't begin to discuss the details as I only know what I do by coming on here and reading the trade press and Trinity is not my club.
I think you'll find a lot of fans from other clubs are worried about the state your club is in.
Like them I'm sure, I hope you can sort it out and stay in business.
This is about your club but please don't think other fans don't care because Trinity is not their club.

Quite right too ! Trinity is a part of RL folklore - as a neutral I don't want any of the clubs to struggle because any club in trouble is just another nail in the RL coffin - good luck Wakey, see you at Perpignan !

So you think they should go to Championship 1 rather than the Championship? A place where they will have to win promotion to the Championship in their first year, and leave them with one year to either win the NRC or reach the GF (a feat that only one club has done to my knowledge during the SL era)?
Ingenious!
