| Yer let's not count our chickens.
A couple of injuries in key positions and it could change our whole season.

Catalans Dragons had six missing through either injury or suspension for their warm up game against Toulouse. They lost both their centres to injury during the match, which they won 42-10,
leaving them a bit on the short side for their Challenge Cup game against Halifax this weekend

| [quote="Trojan Horse":gs71ce5t]Maybe Hudds who have had a terrible pre season. They’ve been beaten by a fev side with players playing out of position and only 3 subs and had a lot of first teamers in. Hudds were horrible dnd of last season and it looks like they’ll struggle this year too[/quote:gs71ce5t]
Think they’ll struggle even with their spine back. Clune played in the reserve grades for years before he sort of found himself in Newcastle’s lineup because of injuries, and now Giants have pinned their hopes on him. Lolohea’s capable of great moments, and also of going missing. They don’t have a fullback. And now they’ve brought in Burgess - an ageing impact sub - on huge money to carry their pack now Hill’s gone.
I can imagine Fev were good value for that scoreline.
A bad run of injuries could hit us, but we have some really able cover compared to Hudds, Cas, Salford and even Leigh.

| Keep hearing Miller is on his way to Hudds, I wouldn't be surprised to see it to be honest. Although he's not the player he was, think he'd still be a half decent option to cover to injuries for them.

Lolohea is a strange one isn't he, capable of being a brilliant player on his day but he almost seems a little bit lazy, which you just can't get away with no matter how good you are.

| Rocks or diamonds. He can pull a match winning try out his backside, but throw a ball into touch on his own line to lose a game. Kind of player I never liked playing with, but fun to watch.

Leigh I think will go okay this season, looked sharp on Saturday, regarding Huddersfield I’ve heard burgess not happy there but apart from that I think they will be below Wakey anyway

| When they've got Ipape, Lam, and now Armstrong firing they're a top 6 side. Take two of those out with injury and I reckon they'll struggle. They don't have much depth, haven't since they came back to Super League really. If we get an injury in most of our positions, there's not a huge drop in quality to the next player. Max > Rourke, Trueman > Lino/Russell, Hood > Doyle, Niketemo > Vagana. For Leigh it's more like Lam > MacNamara, Ipape > Mellor, Armstrong > Macintosh. Big drops.

| I've seen the highlights and Fev were good value for the win. Several flare ups off the ball with Shudds having 2 sin binned so could be some suspensions coming.

| Some very tough calls for round one.
Trueman I think has the spot but who will partner him?
So far Lino has put him self in front but I feel he’s had more time with Trueman where I think Russell hasn’t. Interesting to see who will be lining up vs Goole. I think he will rest Trueman and could play Lino and Russell.
Smith has impressed pre season at 9 too. Looks like he’s grown physically too and is handling the defensive side well. I’m not against him getting some decent game time this season to develop more. Between 1st team and Batley he could really come on leaps this year.
I think the pack mostly picks itself though and the backs mostly too. Probably, a few more choices to make like Pratt or Hall. But personally Pratt has that left centre spot based on last and this pre season. He just looks so assured in everything he does. It’s a shame because Hall does have talent too.
Lino or Russell
Smith or Doyle
Pratt or Hall
Then who gets the bench spot in Vagana/Atoni? Or even Faatili
What a position to be in.

I thought Doyle was injured. So Smith will likely play

A world champion dart player who is the highest profile sportsman outside football right now. And he's local.
For one day (when he is attending the game) I think it's good marketing.

To be fair he’s a massive Warrington fan, hence his choice of shirt and as PT points out he’s up there with popularity at the moment I wish he was from Wakefield,

Although I know what you mean P T- is darts a 'sport' ?I personally feel there has to be some physical contribution to be a sport.
Darts is a game - you only have to look at some of the participants to see that the only exertion some have had is lifting a pint or three - just my opinion of course!

From an Australian viewpoint I can honestly say the I wouldn't be able to pick him out from a line up of suspects.... bowls is a more popular pastime here than darts
claiming 'world champion' is akin to American baseball claiming 'world series'... it has no validity outside the UK (currently)

The world number 8 is Australian.
You are out of date on the darts Spooky. It isn't just an English game at all.
But either way, they are not publicising across the world. They have a local lad who is known across the country who likes rugby.
Why would you not try and use his name to publicise your own sport.

get your point...re Warrington and have no issue with it.... however I would repeat darts has no publicity or commercial value here... i think there is some coverage on subscription, but that's all.
I understand that the Professional Darts Corporation (which was the British Darts Corporation pre Hearn) is hosting a prestigious Premier League Darts competition in 25... hosted at 14 British venues Dublin, Berlin and Rotterdam. the8 competitors, selected from their world rankings include 6 Englishmen, one Welshman, and a Dutchman... hardly breaking international walls down... and, seems despite his world ranking the Aussie is excluded.
I think I understand why people like Hearn get traction amongst the British psyche however as he seems to operate well within his sphere, and is good at making characters... not sure of the longevity of darts in the sporting universe as it seems a bit of a fashion thing,,, was snooker, now darts etc
darts hasn't been the same since Fred Trueman introduced Indoor League and it was alongside table football and table skittles... anyway A'll seethee!

| It will bring publicity and social media hits, but I agree with Willzay, whilst I understand why they've done it, it's a sorry state of affairs when one of the top RL clubs has to go down this sort of attention seeking. Very much what other clubs fans used to level at Trinity in that it's tinpot.
