Please..I have asked many times, where is the post where I said it was? Regardless of how many people watched it, I would suspect that that figure would be considerably more than any RL competition.
6,710,000 People tuned into the 6 nations opener on the BBC in February this year they averaged 4.6million per game for all 15 games
....13,300,000 watched England lose the last RUWC Final on ITV........20,000,000+ French tuned in to watch their side lose to England in the Semi-final....that's more than watched them win the wendyball world cup.
The 2009 4 nations final between England and Australia got less than 600,000 viewers on SKY TV......Can't give an exact figure, but it didn't make the top 30 on other channels on www.barb.co.uk.....2010 games didn't register either...even the Ones shown FTA on the BBC.
You crims really are an insular lot aren't you.........The Challenge Cup Final last year didn't even make the top 30 programmes on the BBC that week.....League is a minority sport in the UK, the only other country to have a pro league running......
You reckon that the RLWC will be watched by more people than the RUWC....fancy a flutter on that  |

the biggest problem would be the different attitudes of each code
union has had too many links to right wing fascist regimes
it has learnt over 100 years that lieing and stealing work, that you can get rival sports banned, taking their assets for yourself
never admitting wrong over professionalism and exaggerating how popular your sport is
RL fans just wont cop this approach so i cant see it working

By the way....there are always 2 sets of viewing figures quoted for major sporting events.....the ones with Billions is generally "Potential" viewers...ie, the amount of people who could have watched the event if they wanted to.....and then the lesser number, which is the reported viewing figure. HTH. |

Interestingly the "learn to tackle" comment has been made about George Burgess.
Good to see that Souths ignore pressure from the NRL to play U20s in the Toyota Cup. He was making 15-20m per hit up in that grade in the trials, so they took the decision to play him against grown ups in the NSW Cup to get a feel of who he'll be up against in first grade, which is where they want him in the future. Well done Souths.
