I think it was McIlorum's distribution to his forwards that was the problem rather than his first receiver, they seemed to be expecting the ball one stride earlier and the timing was out. looked much slicker with Roby at dummy half. I think this is because he tends to stand first then look to distribute rather than one action. This may be ok at Wigan where his forwards can adjust to the timing but mid game it is very difficult

But weren't England at their worst on Saturday for most of the second half when Roby was hooker. What about his pass that was almost intercepted and the terrible pass that Chase had to pick up off his toes (Charnleys second try)

btw when the Burgess boys were interviewed last week about the toughest/hardest player in the England squad they all chose McIlorum. I think it was the only question they agreed on.

I don't see what Ryan Bailey has to do with it anyway tbh. He's a relatively small cog in Leeds wheel compared to McIlorum who I'm telling you, is a massive part of the Wigan team. He sets our tempo in games especially in defence and is one of our three top players. I watch this lad week in, week out and he is so important to our team.

The thing with McIlorum (and Goulding for that matter) is that they are never dominated and nullify the opposition star players opposite them. They always have their opponent in their pocket and do the little things well to the benefit of the team. Charnley's try scoring record (better than a try per match throughout his professional carreer) has a lot to do with having Goulding as his centre providing assists or running intelligent lines that draw the oposition away from Josh. I was stunned when Mcnamara didn't opt for the best centre/wing pairing in the league. The way Goulding has been treated (e.g. picking Thornley for the Knights squad in front of him) he must be seeing Mcnamara's missus behind his back.

If he banged her behind his back he should be in the squad. He must've banged her in front of him and left a skid mark on his carpet to be left out of the England side

Goulding for England? Jeez, he is the centre equivalent of Mossop. Now Farrell & McIlorum are good SL players, but Goulding is so average it's untrue.
Ben Crooks, Atkins, Wardle, Turner, Ratchford, Shenton, Hardaker, Marsh off the top of my head are all preferable.

He had a sly off the ball slap on Elima & stood on another player's leg while he was on the floor. He's rock.
