Very interesting. Veivers is reasonably well rated and can perhaps play centre too, I think. Here we've got two young english lads being given a chance at first team when a couple of years ago they have grabbed a journey man aussie. For all those that slate the quota rules and salary cap, these are benifits we will start to see more and more of.
They may not have been deemed good enough for Wigan, but Peter fox was released by leeds before filling his potential. At least they're getting a chance.
It'll be nice to hear the chant [iVeeeeeeeivers![/i on the terreces again. Even if its for the wrong team.

I do agree, see the Saints squad since Apollo Perelini left the staff.

Sounds like its a decent bit of business

| Good deal for Leeds. I think he'll turn into a great player.
Ben Cross and Hardaker signed from the Loss of Eastwood. Are Leeds fans happy with this ?

So, just to clarify, Wigan sign ANOTHER 3 NRL rejects whilst their kids, unable to get a place in their side because of their 947 overseas players, are forced to head for the slums of Wakefield to further their development.
Something should be done.

| Hull nailed on to sign three name players, while poor Crusaders picking up the scraps with free agents.
Can anyone play this game? I'll say Joe Montana to the Kaiser Chiefs - 7/10

Quote Matt Diskin (Leeds – Hull FC)
The Airlie birds have been suspiciously quiet in the transfer market
this season, but that’s about to change as out-of-favour Rhinos hooker
Matt Diskin is weighing up his options following an offer from Hull’s
Kath Hetherington to her beloved husband and Leeds chief Gary. Diskin
...recently commented on his Twitter blog: “Some big decisions in the
pipeline” , and with the black and whites keen to move current
hooker Shaun Berrigan to his natural position in the centres, this deal
looks credible.
Joe Westerman (Castleford – Hull FC)
Hull’s transfer activity is only set to increase with an announcement
on Castleford’s Loose Forward Westerman to be announced inside the next
week or two. The airlie birds have reportedly offered in the range of
£175,00 to seal the deal.
Grant Rovelli (North Queensland – Hull FC)
Hull FC third signing is set to be announced before the end of
October and Cowboy’s half-back Rovelli is the man at the forefront as
the club are extremely desperate to purchase a player to cover Sean Long
and Richard Horne in the halves. The club have both the cash and quota
space available and a rumoured 1-year deal is all but sealed according
to fans.

| The way it's worded in the T&A suggests to me that Diskin to Bradford is a done deal.
Connor Murphy doesn't write it unless he's been told something solid from the club.
Quote Matt Diskin could complete a surprise move to the Bulls as early as tomorrow.
The Leeds Rhinos hooker has been given permission to leave the club and is expected to sign a three-year deal with their arch-rivals.
The 28-year-old former Great Britain and England international will become the second Headingley stalwart to make the switch to Bradford this month, following in the footsteps of assistant coach Francis Cummins'"

The bulls are busy recruiting, but so far there's a lot of OK guys like hargreaves and Diskin signing up. If they keep Orfod, they go ok. If they keep orford and get Pryce, things could perhaps get interesting at odsal again.

I think the most important change for us is the coaching team.
We had McNamara and St Hilaire.
Now we have Potter, Cummins & St Hilaire. That is tonnes better.
Add to that competition for places, spending the full cap and we should at least be top 8.
You are right though, alot of it is going to be dependant on the halves. Orford isn't coming back, Robinson, Leon, Bosc & Hanbury have all been mentioned.

I thought I'd seen that Orford had back tracked and was staying? Maybe not.
Robbo's struggled to get his career to live up to his initial promise, but seems to have stepped up with some action at hooker. I'm not sure if a move just to play 1/2 is the best thing for his game.
Hanbury is an interesting call - he's looked impressive when I've seen him (albeit mainly highlights), and Bosc may fancy joining up with potter.

What was said was that he's contracted to us for 2 more years, and was expected back in November. I think that was just our CEO trying to get a better price. Obviously if Parramatta and Canberra don't want to pay a fee, he'll return (well hopefully) but from what I can gather the Eels are the most likely destination.
I'd love to see him return but its unlikely.
I just hope the article in LW about that French HB isn't true, not a great replacement for Orford.
