| Quote ="dally messenger"manchester is a heartlands area huh?
franchising decisions are made 1 year hence.
will you get planning approvals in a year?
nope.
looks like its another case of wakey "promising" a new ground to stay in
SL.'"
You're showing how ill informed you are with comments like this Dally. The Manchester area has Salford, Oldham, Rochdale & Swinton with Leigh, Wigan & St Helens all within fairly easy reach.
As for the planning side of things, the application from Wakefield is due for submission imminently (I accept it's been imminent since the plans were announced last month!) but even if it didn't get submitted for a few more months there is still plenty of time for the process to be completed before the 2012 franchise applications need to be submitted.
From the franchise perspective the only areas we will be unable to get marks from for the 2012 applications are the 10k average attendance, £4m turnover and other clubs in a 25 mile radius. You'll probably say that there won't be a point for financial solvency, but I may as well point out to you now (so that you don't look stupid later) that a winding up petition is not the same as being insolvent. Performance on the pitch will meet the requirements, while the junior development speaks for itself in winning the 2009 league & grand final. Wakefield have also led the way in most areas from a community perspective.
In short, you just need to get used to the idea of Wakefield being in SL for many years to come.

You have no idea what my attitude is.
Why not try answering a question.
What evidence do you have that a stadia for Salford built at Barton will enable Salford to gain more support from Manchester and ,as you put it,expansion via Manchester.
I have stated why i dont think a new stadium will increase/expand the support base from Manchester in any significant numbers.
Again you suggest the BBC move will have an impact --- Why will that move suddenly make the people of Manchester sit up and think"crikey the BBC has moved its sports dept to Salford - quick we better go watch Salford RL"
I have already stated that a stadium will increase the crowds, but i dont agree that a new stadium in isolation will make the public of Manchester flock to watch Salford.
And in answer to your question about being aware RL is a summer sport.
Well,in fact no i wasnt aware it was a summer sport.I am aware that dependant on which view you take,it is played in the three summer months of June,July,August and it is also played in the Winter,Spring and Autumn months,in fact the season is played in more non summer months.

Hickson's (or C6 Solutions Ltd as it turned into) closed in 2005.
However, chemical usage licences are still in place which does makes the value of the land low and it'll remain so until the owners of the Hickson site decide that things are picking up and they want to start their own developments.

Precisely. I'd assume that it means we haven't secured all the funding for the full capacity stadium. However, we HAVE accrued enough finance for the two sides of the stadium.

last time i correctly predicted the make of SL.
its not that hard working out what the RFL will do.
1 SL club has to be relegated next time to show the rest that franchising isnt a closed door. the club to go up is widnes.
whose going down?
it will be a heartland club
salford if they show potential on their ground will be given a lifeline because of manchester
its down to cas and wakey
cas are the stronger club now.
given neither will have a ground sorted cas win out.
the fall in wakeys crowds last year after a good season on the pitch spells their doom
1 less yorkshire club redresses the imbalance in SL, and also cas / wakey near each other and underporming, the RFL wont mind seeing one gone.

so 3500 fans wont grow in a new stadium
people in manchester watch sale. if they are dumb enough to do that theyll lap up RL gladly.
yeah salfords council is looking to fund their ground but wakey council wont provide funds for cas or wakey
shows why salford are a SL club and wakey will go down then

I don't see how that can be the case at present dally.
For differing reasons both are in the same position re current progress on the new stadia, but Wakefield have consistently had a better league position than Cas & my previous post already shows the positives for Wakefield youth & community work. Cas do have the edge on average atttendance - but that it all.
If your assumption that one of Wakey & Cas will not get their franchise is correct (which I doubt) then it is more likely to be Cas that are unsuccessful than Wakey if judgement day was today. By the time the franchise decisions are made next year I'm sure that Wakefield will have made sufficient progress with the new ground to secure a new franchise without the uncertaintly that we faced in 2008.
Dally, if you're so confident in your opinion that Wakey won't get a franchise for 2012 onwards I'm sure you won't have any problem agreeing to stop commenting on ANY SL issue if Wakey do get a new franchise. If wakey don't get a franchise I'll get a season ticket for Quins and use it.

ill make my final predictions before the decision is made (ie 2 weeks before)
it depends on crusaders and quins not going broke
but if the decision was being made today it would be you in a heartbeat.
assuming quins, crusaders dont go broke, cas crowds dont fall 20%, your crowds rise 20% etc then its you.
ie barring a miracle.

a miracle might happen and quins and crusaders go broke
salfords stadium might go up in smoke.
the situation is dynamic.

A club that has seen a dip in support this season of circa 15%

Making your bet 2 weeks before the decision is due makes a mockery of every single post you've made in recent months regarding Wakefield's SL status. By that time the planning process for the new ground will be completed (other posts on this thread will educate you as to why it's extremely unlikely that this will not be granted) and all other aspects of the application (contribution to SL, youth development, community work, financial solvency) are at least equal to - and in most cases better than - Salford & Cas. Crusaders are weakest of all SL clubs although the RFL won't have the guts to kick them this time. Quins will retain their place without much difficulty.
The RFL also won't have the guts to kick out more than 1 team and although Wakefield are certainly at risk today, I'm confident enough to predict that Wakefield will retain their SL status as will Cas (although that may be with a short-term ground share at Newmarket Lane until the funding for Glasshoughton is sorted).
If you are so confident that Wakefield won't retain SL status you clearly have nothing to lose. All it means it that you'll have to keep your opinions to the NRL & international game. If I lose, I'll be watching a team every other week that's a 390-400 mile round trip from my own team's home ground.

see thats all the points ive made in a nutshell, and you even agree that your club is at risk
