theres only 2 in the australia squad, chris Lawrence and greg Inglis...and you can count on your fingers the number of games they've played in the past few months cos they've both been injured

Kangaroos are unusually light on centres! Lucky for them Inglis has some time to recover from his injury. Lack of props too, Shillington had an average/poor year in Canberra but it look like they will go with this whole dynamic pack thing the Kiwis have done and NSW did in origin.

Five absolutely top class players in that squad in Darren Lockyer, Billy Slater, Cameron Smith, Johnathan Thurston and Greg Inglis (the latter has not had a great 2011 but still superb)

Other than that, I see some really good first grade players but also many who would not have got near Kangaroo squads of the past

greg inglis is'nt even fit and lockyer is a crack in the chops away from being ruled out of the 4nation

It'll only get worse looking at the ethnicity stats of the Toyota cup players - 75% poly.

Neilsen, hopate, Beale, copley, Fergusson, idris and Jennings isn't that bad. The thing is though, the majority there aren't world class like thy have in say the fb position. They Are even resorting to backrowers in the centres Scott, Taylor etc.

The good news for us is if they get injuries to top centres the depth of the squad starts to show.

I thought that a roses match should replace the exiles match as a meaningful trial for the international squad, turns out the exiles match was a trial match for the england squad. Englishmen are not good enough for our national team, drop them all for foreign mercenaries

If true which it looks like it is this is an absolute joke. If he plays for England I'm not going to be happy. Especially as I have already booked my tickets to every England game. We dont need him in the team thats the stupid thing, I feel we quality in his position already

You forget Matt Scott the best prop in world by a considerable distance. He is as good in his position as any of the players you have mentioned are in theirs.

People won't think it's a joke if we win the 4N with these players, just like English cricket fans don't care that they're number 1 in the world with a bunch of South Africans or England RU fans with a team with Pacific Islanders. It happens, and RL fans are just looking at excuses not to support the game.

If we're allowed to, and others are (including our opponents) then we're stupid not to, and I applaud McNamara for having the balls to go with it to make the team stronger.

It highlights a need to change the rules. But until that happens, morales won't win us the 4N or WC.
