There is no suggestion that RA called JC 'bent' in the press conference - he told me that he'd used the word during a post-match confrontation with JC in the tunnel and that JC included it in his match report, hence the severity of the punishment, which I believe was a record at the time.

It makes little difference now and FWIW, I don't see that it has any bearing on who wins MoS, but it's worthy of comment.

Listing all the achievements he's amassed in his great career doesn't change the fact that this season he's ruined his record and blotted his character by verbally abusing a gay match official and rather stupidly using a word which is offensive to the Gay community. Based in what I've seen Peacock, Clarke and Walsh are good bets SO FAR.

Clark looks likely for YPOY if he carries on as he is. Hardaker would have been up there if not for his moment of idiocy as he has had a storming start to the year.

James Child didnt think it was meant in that way, it is very rare for the word to be used in that way. That is an incident and problem though up entirely in your head. Thats the reason he hasnt been punished for it.

Far from it, once charged I had no argument with Hardaker's ban and Ablett's 2 weeks off. I really don't see why anyone should be banned for reacting to dirty ***** like that though whether they play for Leeds, Saints or Doncaster, guy deserved all he got.

Oddly anough I was listening to Bill Harrigan last night, and he said he'd automatically send off any player who accused him of cheating - he could handle abuse, particularly after a controversial decision, but that was his line in the sand (and why he sent off Tallis in Origin for just that offence). He also reckoned more refs should sinbin players for OTT abuse than they do, as this would stop it.

Have to say I tend to agree with him - if Peacock called Child a 'bent so and so' I'd have no problem with binning him, not for being homophobic (bent and bender really are something from the 70s as far as homophobic slurs go) but for questioning impartiality.
