I don't know much about the leagues club, when I lived in Balmain the leagues club closed down(it may haves moved, Five Dock?) and Wests was like a posh bingo hall and Cental Coasts smelt of .

I've been in Souths to register as a player but as it's miles away and has no affiliation to the club I won't become a member.

I had been a ST holder at Glasgow Celtic for over 15 years and was spending thousands of pounds a year flying up to scotland......fell out of love with soccer and had decided to just go to the odd union game at London Irish. A Mate dragged me to a London Broncos game...the rest is history.......

League is faster and more skillful than union....I can watch them both and to be fair, Union is getting better after a fair few years of it being a bore-a-thon, but I would always rather watch league....and I would have to be drugged, bound and gagged to be made to watch AFL

to be fair to union it looks like a big sport in australia if you get the tvratings and read them last to first

the funny thing is AFL has now surpassed RU in nsw and queensland

so even its its own "heartlands" RU is losing to a sport trying to expand

yet again, dally messenger refers to an occurance in australia and then equates it to a global issue.......the most insular ocker on these boards is our dally messenger

nope...because regardless of the tv deals in dally messenngers head, the IRB could buy and sell the NRL and ESL a few times over....but they will keep changing the rules to make it a faster game

FWIW, Id agree with most of the sentiments in your second paragraph, tho I would ask the question; If we (on a RL forum) dont talk the game up then who will?
Im not suggesting unquestioning belief, some of the 'TGG' stuff makes me cringe..tho not as much as some of the comments from ppl who claim to 'love' the sport who then proceed to slate it.
We've had too much ultra negative comment from within over the last decade. The folks who run the game havent always got it right but then, neither have the supporters.
