You're not very accurate, for an expert an all. The deal was for US$437 Million. How was the money split (three ways isnt an answer) and did you remember about the currie cup?
But they wont be the same, will they. An international comp, based on provincial/ state sides, across two (soon to be three continents) will be worthless than an Australasian comp
Thats prolly why the Aru, Nzru NSWru, Qru, and various assorted NZ unions are heavily in debt and, in australia, losing market share, spectators/ audiences and money.

WTF? You're mistaking a factual based post pointing out the standing of League in both areas where it strongest when compared to Union and AFL Oh and the need for soem to have more than 1 log in on these boards....and the fact dally messenger is off his rocker...
If you can't be bothered reading it again......this was the important bit
AFL 39,704 - 8 GAMES
UNION 18,468 - 13 GAMES
LEAGUE 12,333 - 15 GAMES
Quote ="gutterfax"With regard to multiple log-ins and ID's.....the moderators have never cast aspersions on mine.....and if PHIPPS is the long lost Bazza, it would be hard to prove as Bazza is now on a different continent...so IP tracking would be tough. The only ID that a moderator on this board has cast doubt upon is Huddersfield1895/dally messenger. Personally, I don't think they are one and the same...but for the record, dally messenger posts here, Dally posts on the sin bin!
As for geographical location, I would suggest that wherever dally messenger is, it ain't on this planet!
Back on thread.....(ish)....Watched the IRB 7's from Hong Kong the other day....Portugal .....the little place at the side of Spain, nearly turned over New Zealand in the QF
24 Teams entered, including USA who finished second in Englands group, Russia, Mexico, Malaysia, Korea, Spain and the usual suspects in Fiji, Samoa, Aust, SA, ScotlanD, France, Wales, Kenya, Tonga, etc.....Now....I am sure that the IRB together with the RFU's of the 20 nations participating in the RUWC later this year are all bricking it based on a TV deal for a local sport with 16 club sides
As for AFL.....I agree it is boring as hell but to call it a localised sport is a little rich Hudds'95........the NRL +ESL over 15 games this weekend had 184,995 people through the gates at an average of 12,333.
Just because League is played in 2 localities doesn't make it any more or less of a local hobby than AFL....which got 317,628 fans for 8 games (39,704).....
Back to Union...7 games of S15 Rugby averaged 25,012 this weekend gone(175,084) with the 3 aussie games averaging 18,133.........if we wanted to be really pedantic and add the Aviva Premiership to the mix (65,000/10,833), then over 13 games the total was 240,083 averaging 18,468.....6k more than League!
So...to recap.........
AFL over 8 games got the highest average
S15 was next with 25,012
NRL next, with 15,470
Aviva Union with 10,833
ESL with 8,747
Combine the 2 rugby codes and this looks like:
AFL 39,704 - 8 GAMES
uNION 18,468 - 13 GAMES
LEAGUE 12,333 - 15 GAMES'"

That may change somewhat over rounds 10 and 11.
No doubt, and Iv a feeling that quite a few on ere would agree with him about the probs (and solutions) faced by RL in the UK and Europe.
Do you not think gf's (and phipps [ietal[/i) message is being lost within the trolling a little?
Yep, Id agree. RL in the UK has a whole heap of problems, a fractured supporter base being just one. We're not down and out, but we have lost direction somewhere along the way imho.'"
Good for you. Only a couple of us put our hands up when we're wrong and are big enough to admit it. Welcome to my club.
I don't think that he deliberately trolls as such. We are often force fed spin and misdirection by a few aussies and they often harp on about comparisons with other sports because they are insecure. I mean coming on an Engiish forum dedicated to Aussie RL and the NRL and going on and on about AFL viewing figures which no-one in England gives a fuçk about. Really. And the Union stuff, really. The other thing is that it "may be" that we don't like mouthy, flash, lairy people talking themselves up in general in the UK. So when some give it the large one about the NRL and are then challenged or provided an alternate perspective about the information or often misinformation that they provide, they revert to calling people names. In the instance, Troll. Sad and pathetic really ain't it.
They're happier to name call rather than realise that GF has worked in the field, did lots of volunteer work for RL in London and offered his services for nothing to a RL club. Hardly something a union lover and League hater would do is it.

| Ok so what if the NRL don't get higher attendance then the AFL, there's nothing to do in Victoria, the place is a bore just like it's game.Just look at the viewing figures that DM put out,the other codes don't even come close to RL.Just imagine what the regional figures are,it's best if we don't go their. Both the AFL and yawnion get owned every week they're not in the same league as us.If anything NRL should get a billion and AFL should get half that and YAWNION should get nada cause no one gives a flying fook about it.....LLLLLLLOLLLLLLLL

So you think that continued and sustained loses at a National governing of a 'global' sport plus its two main sub unions (NSW and Qru) is comparable to the situation at one club in an unrelated sport?
Fair enough. I know something similar happened last year, but I cant quite remember what,(arent the P.D Leagues clubs the richest in Aus?) or if its even relevant to the present situation.

Are you not aware there is a direct correlation between the most matches/who saw a match first/ knowledge of the sport?
Thats why Dullyfield1895 knows so much. He attends on average 21.35 matches every week and went to his first one in Bradford back in 1953. Hence he knows more about the sport than everyone else on this forum put together.
