| Nothing wrong with the Shay. One of the better and bigger grounds in the Champioship, and is better than some SL grounds thats for sure !
I must say though, that view is Shocking, and having one terrace rammed and one not is just plain stupid. I don't think this has anything to do with HRLFC

Having been to Toulouse twice and standing on a grass verge on the side of the pitch I don't think you have the right to comment.
Those seats have been a problem before, so they stopped using them for normal Halifax games. Unfortunately they had no choice for a sell-out.

We had the exact same problem pretty much in the exact same place (wonders if you were the group sat next to us) we saw some 2 people who just turn up in the row in front of us and the steward give them alternative seats, we asked to be moved and he obliged. We ended up sat right next to the media (Jon wells and George Riley were next to us) and a brilliant view. If they didn't move you then that's a disgrace, as it was at least 30-40 metres of the pitch you just couldn't see, add to that almost a Full row of seats not taken just across the steps from us and there's no excuse.

Totally agree, I couldn't see what the edge sections were like but it was completely rammed in the middle, a couple of big groups arrived about three minutes before kick off and blocked the aisles meaning you were trapped. Not the big groups fault, they should have been directed elsewhere by the stewards (who did absolutely nothing but have a chat with each other for the full game) and told that area was full.

The stewards at Headingley for the NZ v PNG game were very picky. Having a go outside the ground at people walking in the road, stopping people from exiting the stand into the South Stand car park at the end of the game because they had tiny amounts of beer left in their pints, and the over-the-top and unnecessary "ring" of stewards around the pitch at the end that discouraged the players from interacting with the fans.
It just wasn't necessary.

reminds me of our visit to belle vue wakefield last season when they brought in the segregation! couldn't see half the pitch as the dugouts with players, officials, physios et all all blocked your view of the game even whilst we stood, not any of their faults, just the way the terracing is at wakefield, too shallow, along the sides and behind the goal

| apparently the reason for it being so crowded yesterday in the south stand (i felt like a sardine in a tin) was that tickets were incorrectly printed as south stand instead of north. thats why there was the big empty section of 300-400 spaces in the north.
Unfortunately the stewards were not smart enough to move 300-400 fans to the other stand so it was safe. I saw around 50 people get moved to the west stand which i believe wasn't on sale, and used for the community dance project.
Surely the person in charge should of made the executive decision to relocate fans; as it wasn't safe in that stand at all!

| After paying a visit to the loos in the South Stand I went back to the top of the stand where my friends were located I walked up the stand and some numpty dropped his shoulder into me his response was "I was rude"
I politely pointed out to the 'gentleman' that he was stood on the yellow walk way so any contact was his fault
I didn't get a response

| The ticketing for a lot of the games has been a shambles. I turned up to ENG v IRE game at Huddersfield to find that they had given my seat to some kids dancing at half time.

Not sure who told you that? The south stand was sold out 3283 capacity, the stewards were useless at keeping the yellow walkways empty. This said we stood right in the middle at the back and were crowded but not cramped, never felt in any way dangerous!
Due to some stupid rule over the north stand only having enough toilet facilities the capacity was capped at 2010. When we were in SL the north stand held over 3000. That is the reason for the empty space in there.
As for the bad view in the east stand, I have sat in those seats and you can still see the play from there. Admittedly the dugouts may block some part of the middle of the pitch.
Anyway most people have commented positively about their shay experience yesterday. I am biased mind!

| it was actually one of the head stewards that told me that; i was talking to him and said its overly cramped in this stand and quite dangerous (certainly where i was on the right hand side, people were getting knocked over when anyone tried to move and people couldn't go the toilet or anything). don't know whether the steward was chatting crap or not then if you said they reduced the north stand limit.

| We had a decent amount of room in the top right hand corner of the South Stand.
Yesterday was only the second time the North Stand has been opened since it was 'refurbished' IIRC, pretty sure it's correct that the capacity is limited because there's only a small set of toilets and only one catering van.

This. Plenty of space in the right hand corner, was surprised at all the room that was available.

I noticed many off the Stewards were actually bouncers from the bars in town, probably supplied by the security company that manages the doors at the bars in town! Now I don't want to tar them all with the same brush but I don't think they are brightest group of individuals in the world. I doubt if some of them could actually say executive decision!

We arrived about 40 minutes before kick off and all the kids were already sat there. Everyone who had tickets for that area were being told they couldn't sit there.
What makes it worse is despite me paying for my seats months ago they didn't even bother sending me my tickets until I called them to see why it hadn't arrived the week leading up to the match. They had clearly sold the seats, then allocated it to the kids and then not sent out tickets they had sold because they had messed up. Didn't help that the person telling everyone to move was some snooty parent of one of the kids.

| If it isn't stated you're going to have a restricted view when purchasing a ticket then you should be entitled to some if not all your money back.
Had this at Harlequins/Broncos with my son and fans/stewards walking past the lower seats throughout the game. I complained & they gave us two free tickets for the next game (which I gave away to my club as I couldn't use them..)

Well as the law stands they would have no option, if it was patenetly obvious to the people running the stadium that there is a restricted view (for whatever reason) then they MUST disclose this. Effectively it is misrepresentation, you buy a ticket for an event & you expect to be able to see all of it unimpeded (within reason of course.) This applies probably even more so to ticketed seats than standing but all the same if they know that the view is restricted it is down to the seller/stadium management to notify the buyer in advance of urchase..
I'd be fecking livid tbh if I couldn't see a 1/3 of the pitch or had stewards et al obstructing the view throughout

Yeah that'd be us
As I said its a discrace they didn't move you, there were plenty of seats further back and towards the media. If they hadn't have moved us I'd have been kicking off and demanding money back.
As for the post saying you could see something, you may have seen the occasional foot or leg but no more that that.
