| It depends on who wins tie one.
For instance, my predictions have Wigan beating Leeds, which means when it comes to the clubcall round, from what I can remember, Wigan can only choose one of the other two teams to reach that round.
In my predictions I have the obvious - Wigan, Saints, Wire and Leeds in Clubcall. If they can't pick Leeds, I reckon they'll pick Saints purely for the local derby.

With respect, the current bunch (certainly minus a couple of first choice props) won't win this years GF. Not taking anything away from recent successes.

| If Wigan beat Leeds, they could pick Leeds again if they get through. They couldn't pick whoever wins out of Saints and Wire next week.

I think they can't pick the other winner, so if Saints win, Wigan have to pick someone other than Saints in the semis, while they get whoever Wigan don't pick.

| Wigan should get through with no problems, the other team will be a tossup between Saints and Warrington.
If Saints put their best head on they are likely to get there but if Warrington switch on like they did when they embarrased the Whinos then a Wigan Wire final should be on the cards.
The rest are just making up the numbers.

| If Warrington can reproduce their Wembley performance then they will be champions.
Saints are a strange bunch at the moment, in some games this year and for part of last night match we have looked absolutely clueless.
Yet we've finished second.
They are a team in transition with some very talented players......but not the finished product.

| How ironic would it be if Warrington who haven't won for 20+ years at Knowsley Road were to do it on Friday in the last ever game to held there (until the next play-off game).

| If Wigan win at the weekend they will just choose the lowest ranked, and 'natural' opponent for week 3. That avoids giving the opponent any motivation.

It doesn't matter.
The club will always give oppo motivation no matter what spin is put on it.
You're not in a birlliant position, in that respect.

In 2008, just 2 weeks before the granmd final, saints took leeds apart. A real thrashing.
The current bunch then didn't look like a team that was going to pick up the title.
Battered an bruised, they then had to play an on form wigan team with momentum.
Going into the final, leeds lost fullback brent webb, had to shift lee smith to fullback and ryan hall, a then inexperienced winger who hadn't played since the cc semi 2 months earlier, was drafted onto the right wing.
They were playing against a team that was 23 games unbeaten.
What was the end result?
Kevin sinfield lifting the trophy.
This team has battled the odds before and they'll try and do it again.

| Can see Saints and Wire playing on Friday like it's the grand final and being knackered for the rest of the comp!! Saints need to tighten up big time and could go into the play offs with no 6 or 7 which will be a massive blow. Wigan will find it hard v Leeds but can see them winning, choosing Hull in the club call and Longy having a blinder and beating them...Hull V Saints/Wire for me

The highest placed winner of week 1 gets it. If Wigan lose, Saints get it unless they lose in which case we'll get it.
And before anyone else asks, if you lose in week 1 you surrender home advantage in week 3.

well done wigan for going to leeds and trouncing them
the thought of another leeds / st helens GF was so depressing now its set up for a glamour clash between these 2 rivals
maguire has done a fantastic job at your club, much like wayne bennett has done with the dragons
and with the calibre of import for next year youll only improve

| I find it amazing that Saints have got there (see earlier post) without having their "best head" on.
To me either 2 things will happen.
They will come out and destroy Wigan or get absolutely hammered.
It will be good game but nowhere near the standard of the game the following day betweens Saints and Roosters
