This charging people for the press conference and training session is appalling.

HKR fans have bough season tickets and shirts etc to support the club some of them on the back of Mason coming to manipulate them to get some extra money out of them IMHO is wrong.

they should let everyone in to the training session, do a collection have Mason ask everyone to throw a quid in , open the club shop and foster some goodwill. If the Giants did something like that i would be moaning like hell.

Engage what little grey matter you have between your ears before you put your geordie mouth in gear... The money is going towards the lads from the academy who are going to oz.

I wouldn't have gone but after Rovers have said that the money raised will go to the Youth tour I'm gonna make all the events. See Mason and throw an extra few quid the tours way.

But surely it should be an opportunity for ALL HKR fans. Not those who may have a bit extra who can afford iot but all the fans. By all means do something to raise money to send the kids to Australia but to use the clubs big signing and only make it available to those who want to pay extra is a bit wrong

I think Hull KR fans should be the judge of this don't you? As yet I haven't heard any of them moaning about it. Maybe HKR fans are more supportive of the club than Giants fans?

To be quite honest as excited as I am to see Willie playing for HKR I will pass on going to the training session, I didnt go down to see Dobbo, Jake Webster, Clinton, Newton, Galea...etc and I have to say I was just as excited to see Jake over here after watching him at Loftus Road in 2005 against GB. Also I do like the Knights so Newtons arrival was very much appreciated but I still didnt go down to watch him train!

Sensationalising a player like this adds to the pressure and if/when he has a bad game or two the backlash is truely going to hit the fan!!!

Don't mind the club charging when it is going to a good cause either, think if you want to go that is great as it puts money into a scheme that should improve our home grown talent. However if you really want to watch them train that badly just ask to be shown around David Lloyd gym at their regular training time and act as if you want to join the club!!! Also you can usually just walk in and stand in the Well for most other training sessions so possibly pop down on a day they are not charging if it bothers you that much!!!!

If by charging fans to help pay for the oz trip for the kids we get better young kids and we one day do not need as Meany oz players I am all for it great idea

Or how about not spending all that money and all those man hours on sorting out the contract and visa and house and car and whatever else, as well all the press conferences and what not? Rather than signing an old crocked Aussie has-been, known for being a thug and not having the best of lifestyles or being the best role model for kids, how about using all that money and man hours on your youth development?

Rovers already have a terrific squad, should be highly competitive this year and have a platform to aim for honours or the next few years. The cost of Mason far outweighs the cost of youth development and IMO he won't bring much what is already a very good squad apart from a number of onfield punch ups.

Must say it did make me chuckle a bit!

I think when you talk to anyone in Rugby League and ask them who one of the best forwards in the game has been over the past 10yrs Mason's name is likely to be mentioned and as an iconic figure he is certainly recognisable!

But I agree with your posts sentiments, think Mike Smiths mouth ran away from his brain during that interview!!!
