Wigan as a club are morally reprehensible so this is nothing new for them.

Their fans might think it's great the press are bigging up Hock's triumphant return, but they are only doing it so they can mention his drug taking again.

Define "morals" and then people will have a base from which to understand what you are complaining about, otherwise I, along with probably the rest, who read it do not understand.

It seems to me that if you've done a crime and come back from it, you are better thought of than those that have never broken the law in the first place. Hock should not be congratulated at all. Neither should Wigan, because if anyone in the real world was caught doing what Hock was, they would not be rewarded with a better contract.

How is it a "Better Contract"?

Could anyone who says that they were only recreational drugs explain this to my sister whos daughter, my neice died of an overdose age twenty six. Anyone who is supposed to be a role model for kids should be banned for life end of.

Try working out WHO was responsible for the situation you have mentioned.

I do think Wigan should have shown him the door. Hardly a good example to the local community and the young players in the service area and academy set-ups. Zero tolerance.

thats very sad and im very sorry to hear it. But it is ultimatley irrelevant, a friend of mine died in a car crash, which was his fault, he was speeding but not drunk or anything. That does not mean that i believe anyone caught driving a car should be lined up and shot.

We do indeed control the media and their reporting of Hock's performance was our doing, like all other things of course.

I am not blaming Wigan for any of this, I do believe that any club would have done the same. I personally love to watch Wigan to see how it should be done. It's not just RL but allsports and celebrities.While most people decry drugs it seems to be OK depending on what you do for a living.Where I work we have drug and alcohol testing and if you are found to be positive you are fired end of story, and I do think if this policcy was more widespread drugtaking would be reduced.

The risk people are prepared to take with their own health, in their own time, is nobody elses business.

It isnt really. The legality of a situation doesnt affect its morality. There is no logical or moral reason for drugs to be illegal other than successive governments too scared of not looking 'tough' on crime to readers of the daily mail.

They wont kill you. They can if you arent careful or have a particularly bad reaction, but that is the same for any chemical you are exposed to.

However, the fact they can kill you doesnt mean that it is anyone else's business as to whether you choose to take that risk with your life or not.

Sorry, but the 5 year contract is factor. I don't know what his salary is, but as someone else stated, other clubs will have been in for him and Wigan will have known that, so the contract they offered will have had to have been improved otherwise he would not have benefited from signing it. Do you honestly believe he will have signed on reduced terms? But no-one cares about what he's done now, he's a top player who scores tries and that is all that matters. I reckon all these people who say he has served his time and deserves to be given a second chance wouldn't be as forgiving if their kid's maths teacher was caught doing recreational drugs in their spare time.

As has been said, had he been released by Wigan, another club would have snapped him up in an instant. Look at footballers who've been inside, if you're good enough, whatever the crime is, another club will sign you.

On that basis, they should all be banned from any drinking of alcohol – after all, we have a massive problem with binge drinking among young people in particular, don't we?

Goodness, if they're caught having sex with someone other than their spouse, they should be barred for life too – after all, we have a whopping issue with teenage parents, don't we?

He was banned. He has completed that 'sentence' and he is back doing his job, which was not influenced by what he was banned for in the first place.

What does it matter if a maths teacher snorts a line of coke now and then? As long as he/she does their job to the best of their ability, it's of no consequence whatsoever. I know 5 teachers looking after kids of various ages - only one of those, to my knowledge, doesn't occasionally do drugs of one form or another. Truth is, if you're out in any town or city on a night out, you're surrounded by people doing drugs - that will include teachers, doctors, nurses, firemen, social workers, sports people, etc, etc, etc.

I don't do drugs - I tried them as a teenager and found them pretty dull. But many of my friends in certain circles were hardened regular users, and several still scuttle off to the toilets at regular intervals on a night out. I think they're pretty sad, but it doesn't bother me, and neither is it my business.
