My theory is they have more staff working for Australian Visa approval than Pacific Islands visa's. All those who have been waiting have been predominantly sout sea islanders and not Australians.

The Crocker case was more to do with his past law issues. So going on that Mason was pretty much sorted with his Aus visa then switched to a Pacific Islands one that is taking ages I wouldn't be so sure that he isn't coming just on past evidence they take a little longer than others.

One other thing too, its only been about 6 weeks since applying for this visa which is pretty recent looking at the amount of time the Crusaders have been waiting for stars that were playing for them last year.

Yeah can see with this loophole over off shore payments being shut that he would be doing something like this I mean it has never been about the sport/club with Mason it is always about the money.

I do not however see Rovers accepting this and Morgan certainly isn't one to put up with a player holding the club to ransom.

I'm still keeping faith in the club and am looking forward to seeing Mason running over Westerman like Newton did a couple of weeks ago!

Other than the fact that he is a proud Tongan but does not meet the requirement of having represented Tonga in enough international games or that the authorities may feel that he is using a tongan passport as a matter of convenience and is trying to get around immigration law or that he is using a tongan passport as a way of avoiding employment ( quota ) rules set up by the RFL so he can play for HKR.

Why would he need to use any clout the Border Agency are highly unlikely to be involved in any of this hype and only look at what paper is in front of them at the time. Whoever is dealing with this case is as likely to have heard about Willie Mason as you are my next door neighbour.

As has been said the UKBA do not care what quota rules the RFL has, this is an independant organisation that has set up its own rules to try and better its national side. They are not laws of the land and while he is on a Pacific Islands passport he is just as able to work in the UK as a German or Italian in whatever job he or she so chooses. He has garunteed work on a very pleasant salary that will give the UK much needed taxes. He has no convictions and nothing to suggest he should be denied entry to the UK.

Think the club would be pretty wise to these rule changes though and wouldn't be stating facts that he will be here if he wasn't going to be.
