You could have joined the 20,000 plus crowd that turned up at the SFS to watch the Tahs earlier.


Sydney is definately an RU city these days. The Rabbits v Manly game had to go to Gosford and even then only got 18,000

Keeping the over thirties involved and [iregistered[/i is something we need to be better at. Other codes use the over 30's/ vets to inflate their registered player numbers, didnt the English rfu claim they had a greater number of players then Football pmpl.
Theres also the added benefit to the amateur clubs as more players means more use of the bar facilities etc.

was that a RU 20,000 or a real 20,000? Perth gets nearly that many in a city of 1.8million. Sydney cares about as much for RU as it does for AFL!

The Roosters also play out of the SFS. This weekend they are playing the Tigers at the SFS. [uThats 2 Sydney based league teams[/u. Playing each other. In the same city they both come from. The same city that the trolls have us believe is the epicentre for RL. One team was the beaten 2010 grand finalists and the other one has arguably the best five eighth in the world in the side. In a great stadium that holds well over 40,000.

The game has been much hyped after the belter of a fixture last year.

lol, if RU was popular in Sydney, a city of 4.5million, it would have sold out SFS months ago for the opportunity to see the only team in town. You think if there was one NRL team in Sydney, or even just 4 or 5 they wouldn't be selling out SFS and ANZ regularly?



Face it RU is a minor sport in Australia that is losing ground to its main rivals every year. I look forward to the day the A League takes 3rd spot and RU can start worrying about keeping in front of basketball and netball!

It would be REALLY funny if even despite having their funds reduced the Waratahs STILL beat the Sydney mungoball teams on crowds.






Move all the RL sides to Brisbane and the Central coast I say before the sport dies out in Sydney altogether through lack of interest.
