does the NRL come under the ARL or does it have a seperate governing body?
as iv'e said before,SLE should have its own governing body and it should be based in london because its a european league.the rfl should be left to oversee the rest of the sport.

is the ARL govened by the NRL?
one of the probable benefits to SLE being based in london and being self govening is this,it cannot be seen as a northern sport anymore, which appears to be the holy grail that everyone is craving.

Oh wait, the reports state that the SL meeting which voted to remove the administration/ insolvency = not allowed to apply for licence rule happened last month, ie around the time of HMRC seeking a winding up order against the Wildcats, not the Crusaders case ...

no,i told you a probable benefit to SLE, of moving SLE to london.
the rest of the game needs a govening body to set rules that they can all adhere to,unhindered by the constantly changing organisation known as SLE thats were the rfl would come in.

God you come up with some classics. There is absolutely no way they would have voted to remove that clause for the sake of Wakey, and if they did why would Sir Rodney Walker bother paying the tax bill we would have just gone down the Crusaders route.

| because without it, the club have been wound up.
And let me clarify: I pointed out the timing, but yes it's quite likely that the rule change was linked to the Wakey issue, which as I understand it, was about unanticipated tax bills resulting from previous image rights payments - something which could well affect other clubs (and is more likely to explain clubs voting, than "the tea leaves say Crusaders may apply for administration in the future, we'd best change the rules).
by the by, this is not an original thought, the very same point was made some pages back by someone else, without attracting that response - perhaps because some people hadn't yet worked themselves into a lather over tjeir own imagined conspracies ![Wink icon_wink.gif](//www.rlfans.com/images/smilies//icon_wink.gif) )

Hmm. So the RFL had absolutely no idea that Crusaders were in any sort of financial trouble until last week when they went into administration? It is inconceivable that they haven't known about Crusaders difficulties for some considerable time.

It cannot?
It makes little difference where the RFL or SLE is based; people who see the sport as "northern" (which is almost everybody) won't even notice that HQ has moved south.

you might be right you might be wrong but if we dont try we'll never know will we?
i just have a problem with a league that wants to be seen as cosmopolitan and to lose its image as a northern sport being based in leeds when all the other sports of any importance are based in london.
