The sharks storm game was easily the worst game of rugby I've watched all year. Genuinely the wakey cas game was a better watch in atrocious conditions last night.

It is the refs fault that he’s not penalising the players more by sending players to the bin for repeated team penalties. If all they think will happen is a penalty, they’ll just keep giving them away

Constant penalties, constant mouthing off, constant diving, fingers in eyes, grapple tackles, knock ons, boring unimaginative plays, very poor displays by the 1,6,7+9s on both sides... terrible game!

Quick question for you - at this stage which teams would you say are definitely going to make the top 8? i can only make a case for 3, possibly 4 at the absolute max. the rest could finish anywhere between 3rd or 14th

Dragons, Panthers, Storm, Rabbitos, Broncos, Raiders, Sharks, and one from either Warriors & Roosters for 8th. All based on ability to scrape wins without depending too much on key players and the teams which get refereeing decisions. Warriors should do OK in the origin period but when they struggle they are bloody awful - they all look at each other rather than looking at themselves.

storm, dragons, roosters and panthers are the only ones i'm pretty sure will get top 8. then there's a whole host of teams who could get there but equally have the ability to lose several on the bounce (warriors, bunnys, broncos, raiders etc.) so i really couldn't be sure about their chances. only titans and eels look completely out of it, perhaps the bulldogs too

Next weekend Sydney Roosters vs Brisbane Broncos. That might help clarify the top 8 positions.
