desperately poor from the Hull 'fans'. There aren't that many games to go to in RL compared to soccer, and I doubt soccer fans in Hull are any richer than the RL fans.

My father in law watched a game with me for the first time last night....3 times he said 'there aren't many people there'.

We cant crow about the media and sponsors when 8000 'die-hard' Hull 'fans' cant be bothered to go to a home play-off tie.

Our gates have been around 11k, so that leaves 6k 'missing'. Hull is an economically depressed area. Fans have recently had to pay out for an expensive Wembley trip and some will have already started paying for next year's season pass. People don't have unlimited money.

Personally, I have had to pay £700 in vet's bills in the last few weeks, and there's likely to be more to come. I'm sure others have different reasons for not going beyond simply 'not being bothered'.

No. I'm sure there are some who thought they'd give it a miss after last week's debacle against Saints, but there will be plenty who would have gone if they'd been able to.

I'll start to worry when we can only attract 5000 for a game against Wigan that will send us to the top of SL if we win it.

Knockout rugby has being poorly attended for a long while now and it is beccomming too expensive for people to go to games.

Call it poor all you want but I think the game needs to look at that bigger picture as people are not buying into the Top 8 format. We have had a poor regular season yet still made the play offs, families are not going to fork out over £70 to watch poor rugby. Even more so when you could have to do it all again a week later.

We won't be on our own this weekend at having an attendance lower then the reg season average throughout the play offs.

They played well too, I would imagine the stay away fans are pretty embarrassed now.

Rock God is right in that Hull is a poor area and not everyone who wants to go can afford it. People buy thwir season passes and turn up week in week out but when its a knock out game and youre talking minimum £60 for a family not everyone can do it.

That said, I would imagine 90% of people can find the money if they really want to go. You only had to spend 2 minutes on the Hull forum last week to see how much people are sulking, the season was already over as far as most people were concerned.

8000 would be an acceptable crowd for a game like that with no away fans imo. 5000 is a little embarrassing.

Don't suppose so. I'm certainly not. I bought my season ticket, went to Wembley and bought my merchandise through the season. I have other things in my life that are as important/more important than rugby league, and I'm not remotely embarrassed that my finances didn't stretch to last night's game.

So the RFL should just have 13 home games a season per club and then RL fans would be happy?

There's more to it than that, last night was a statement by the stay away Hull fans, and I'm not impressed by it.

I can't speak for 'RL fans' in general, but from a personal point of view, I'd be happier with a top 5 play off system than the current rubbish. Still wouldn't have had the money to go last night though.







I'm sure they'll be deeply upset that you're not impressed. We've witnessed some pretty dire performances at the KC this year and lost 6 out of 13 home games. Saints last week was just awful. If people are voting with their feet, that's their prerogative. I go to watch rugby because I enjoy it. If I stop enjoying it, I'll stop going. Maybe some have already reached that point.



Believe what you want. Times are hard, and Hull has it harder than most. Money doesn't grow on trees and everyone has to make choices.
