Loving chuff, it was the poorest set of defending and possibly one of the worst halves or rugby i've ever witnessed, Lauaki could have scored the very same try with those muppets.
Hey Cadoo, you still claiming to be a Wigan fan or will you go back to Crusaders when they hit the big time again?

| If I were to choose player's who have performed really well this season and improved from a Wigan point of view I'd be looking towards the likes of Finch and Hock. Finch has really stepped it up a gear this season and has been bossing Wigan around the park and got us worrying about a replacement if he we're to leave. Hock since coming back although still seen as someone who loses his cool, I feel he has really improved with this aspect and is slowly starting to become more controlled and he's been in great form too.
Roby for Saint's would also be a candidate. Saint's really struggle when he's not around and when he's on form so are Saints. He is the key to the team.

| I think that Andy Lynch deserves a shout. He's been massive for Hull so far this season, putting in a massive effort during our injury problems and has been a great leader. He's made more metres, carries and tackles than any other Prop.

That's because they [iwere[/i very, very ordinary.
I don't understand this obsession with who 'deserves' MoS - it's voted for by players, so the concept of deserving, at least from a spectators perspective, is redundant; players choose a fellow pro who they believe should win - simple.
You are Eddie Hemmings by the way, and I claim my box of Kleenex.

| I'll accept that Hull KR's defenders weren't at their best when Sam tippy-toed his way through them.
I often wonder why so many normally excellent rugby league players turn into poor, sloppy, disorganised defenders incapable of tackling a dog's dinner when wee skinny young Sam has a run. They just make him look good.
Odd how that keeps happening, isn't it.

Not until he does it week after week against pretty much every opponent. Gelling did ok, some raw errors though, nearly butchered one of his tries - Wane would have torn strips off him.
Special talent is Sam. Unfortunately I suspect drugs. Must drug the opposition to make them look so pants, and so they make him look like the outstanding SL talent by some margin that he can't possibly be, apparently.

| Not slagging Sam off, fantastic player but that try v Hull KR was just as much sh*te defending as it was Sam.
Any half decent defence worth their salt would have snotted him.

Not slagging him off, but the defence was crap, which is it?
He did a similar thing against a "Sh1te", by your definition, Leeds defense at Wembly, before releasing his brother for a try.

Hayne scored a length of the field try against Penrith (I think) beating 3 awful attempts at tackling yet it was still declared a "wonder try"
Hayne scored another "wonder try" against St George, even though the tackling was more woeful than that Sam faced.
Its time for Warrington fans to get over their hatred of Tomkins

Agreed. If i had made the "attempted tackle" Welham made, i would be running laps all day. An 8 year old could have done better. It was pathetic.
Tomkins is an excellent attacking player, but a child could have tackled better than Welham and he shouldn't get anywhere near the England squad. Fair playr to Tomkins for going to the weak link.
On a side note, Tomkins let himself down again with his attitude towards the referee. It was weak refereeing by Hicks, how can you call time off and ASK a player to come back into the defensively line, then to not sin bin him was spineless from Hicks, it was like he was intimidated by Tomkins.
He was a wonderful player but needs that kickng out of him.

| As much as it pains me to say it (of a wigan player) Sam tomkins is well ahead for MOS and will need a crash in form not to win it IMO. Unless of course he's very unpopular with his fellow professional, which i can't see tbh

| Sam is amazing but hardly a man of 'steel'? Surely that should be for more the Adrian Morelys, Gareth Carvell, Jamie Peacock, Antonio Kafussi ilk? Robey and Sinfield should also be in the running.

That's a good call. Although nearly everybody agrees that Lynch is a great player and would love him to be in their team, he never seems to get official recognition for his work. An unsung hero.

To be man of steel you have to be near perfect not only in attack but your all round game has to be great.Theres no doubt that the attacking play from tomkins is superb, but not so his defending ,especially under the high bomb where he is average at best.
Roby on the other hand is exeptional not only in attack but also in his defence .He is probably one of the best tacklers in the league, and his alround game is of much higher class than tomkins.I could name you 4 or 5 better fullbacks in the world of rugby, but i couldnt name a hooker as good as roby!!

For me Cam Smith is the best hooker in the world by some distance followed by Issac Luke then James Roby would probably fall into the group behind them with Michael Ennis, Danny Buderus & Michael Monaghan
