Is it just me that thinks the foul play was the knee to the face rather than Thurston's high shot? That's the reason it was a penalty try IMO.

I wouldn't disagree, but the Thurston 'tackle' is an odd one.....He showed no intention to go for anything else but Hall's head....It was a definite 10 minutes and a ref with balls could easily have been within his rights to show a red.

England fans embarass me with the reactionary soccer like reactions to any shot that strays above the shoulder.

I thought so too. He wasn't in the actual act of scoring when the high tackle came in (so it can't be a penalty try), but he was when he got the knee to the face. Whether that's why Smith gave it, I have no idea. He's already shown a pretty partial grasp of the rules of the game.

Anyway, here's to the second half.

Lads we don't have to score every time we have the ball! We need to calm down or we'll get nowhere near scoring. What's the point of training all week, all month if you aren't going to go through your moves and plays on the day?

I like that we've had a good amount of field position. But this getting annoying with that little popped pass to a forward on the inside every single time.
