Do we still not have any idea on when Magic Weekend is, and who is playing who?

Andy Wilson thinks it's going to be played at Manchester City's ground. Awful decision if true.. you don't get the pub and bar scene there like you do in Wales even though it's close enough to being in the city . More chance of being stabbed in that area too..

back to summer then as no chance footy ground in feb. I surprised city would allow that many games on pitch at anytime of the year.

Asking Bulls (again) to play Leeds would be totally unfair. Team that finished 10th vs SL Champions? You are having a laugh.

And if they DID stick to "local derbies" then you would have the new boys Widnes playing Warrington - again, you are having a laugh.

I do not agree with this invented extra fixture if it counts for SL points. Never have and never will. It can never be fair.

Based on final placings, it would be:

Warrington v Wigan
St Helens v Huddersfield
Leeds v Catalans
Hull KR v Hull FC
Castleford v Bradford
Salford v London
Wakefield v Widnes

They don't look so bad? Or especially unfair, other than Cats might have grounds for complaint (could always switch Cats and Hudds...)

Not sure how it would look based on play-off rankings instead.

As has been mentioned, looks like the Etihad Stadium at the end of May for this year's Magic.

They play their last home game on the 13th May. The Magic weekend will be two weeks later then they will lay a new pitch for the new PL season.

based on final standings it would be:

makes sense, I believe they are short of a bob or two - so their owners will be pleased.

Guessing there are no concerts on this year. As that ground is only allowed x amount of non football events each year.

I've been told so no link, a few of the RL press guys on Twitter have alluded to it in the last few weeks aswell.

Not really an odds vs evens system if the last one isn't odd vs evens.

I think that sticking with attractive fixtures is the best way to go. Doesn't necessarily have to be derbies.

Those 2 could be switched and played as derby matches, similar league positions not too much of a mismatch

That's what I did at first, but was trying to emphasise that it didn't need to be derbies.

tbh, i only posted that system so we dont have the fc v kr overkill again this coming season

I like the idea of draws

Annouce it and then straight after, draw out 8 teams, those 8 play Saturday the other 6 Sunday.

Of those 8 & 6 draw lots 30 mins before kickoff for the first game and at half time for the 2nd and half time for the 3rd, the 4th match will know at the same time by deduction.

But then we're left with the prospect of unattractive games like we had in Edinburgh.

Teams can't prepare for their opponents though, makes it interesting.

5th V 6th
7th V 8th
9th V 10th
11th V 12th
13th V 14th

But using the league positions from the Monday before the magic weekend? (Although if like last year two teams may have a game in hand if the World Club fixture weekend fixture hasn't been arranged in time).
