Whoever can't afford to run can be replaced by Widnes, they'll work, whoever after that Barrow/Toulouse.
If you're losing money then trim your outgoings, I fail to see how this is difficult.

No one seems to be willing to give the game time.

There are no quick fixes, retreating to the heartlands won't bring new fans or more money. Neither will ruthless expansion which leaves out clubs with great potential.

The RFL needs to bring the game consistency at all levels. Get the fixture lists sorted for lower leagues. Give teams time to get financially viable and grow. No point in wasting what's been done with SL.

Maybe everyone should stop complaining and just enjoy the product on show. Of course that's not gointo happen is it.

hope you are right, bulls, saints and leeds can be replaced by dublin edinburgh and glasgow due to their old style stadia, then we can all wave good riddance to SL and get on with playing RL

If that's how SL looks in 2012 then they will be the only professional clubs in existance and on very much of a slippery slope themselves. I would give professional RL about 2 years if that was the make up.

If it did get cut to 12 we'd all move on and get on with it but i'd be seriously worried about the future. As it stands right now I think it's all a bit doom mongering

12 or 14 teams mate it doesn't matter the sooner the ESL goes its own way the better for the rest of us we can then start searching for sponsors & TV deals ourselves.

as you've said yourself theres not enough quality players going around for that to work properly.we'll just end up with what we.ve got now.

I think if you had in a few years time 18 teams with 3 or 4 weaker teams spread across conferences I don't think people would be THAT bothered tbh

Depend who you mean by ' people ' , the fans , correct , they probably wouldn't , but they are not the ' people ' who would be affected by having so many clubs needing funding via SKY

Do you not think Sky would offer a bigger contract for 9 games a week/3 televised with hopefully selling some rights onto french tv?
Its not a short term thing anyway but i genuinely believe its the future

your asking SKY to put another 10million into RL over 4 years aint going to happen theres more chance of them reducing the amount for the next contract rather than increasing it.
