While I don't agree with our club looking to 'bend' the rules, it was you guys who opened the loop hole. The fact it is quite feasible that you'll have more foreigners than Englishmen in your 17 is shocking IMO.

Daniel Fitzhenry had a middling time of it at Rovers and was considered by many to be "average" yet Wests Tigers snapped him up. Garret Crossman had one average year over here and went back to play NRL, so you can't really make that claim.

The coach of any club will do whatever they can [ including ' bending ' the rules to be as competitive as they can , if anybody thinks they wouldn't , they are stupid

you either know very little about RL, have no knowledge of what has happend between SL and NRl in the last 3 seasons or are a wind up merchant. If you think Galea, Clinton, Newton, Webster, Dobson to name a few wouldn't walk straight back into an NRL starting 17 you really have no idea. Two words, Ryan Tandy!

Clintons not got it and Galea and Newton, despite being good players are well past their best. Webster couldnt get in the side because some kid was keeping him out but I agree Dobson would walk back into the NRL. As for fisher and lovegrove.. well..

this isnt really a gfood argument. Everyone would like to sign a top quality 21 year old who will go on to be quality for years to come, but it doesnt happen very often does it. For all the positives you want to give us about signing a young Mick Dobson it conveniently ignores the Andreas Bauers, Luke Dyers, Rhys Lovegroves etc and all the other Overseas frogs Justin Morgan kissed before he found Prince Michael. Which simply highlights the point, there are young English players who are in the same position as Dobson, but dont get the opportunity, whereas Dobson does, Bauer did, Lovegrove did, Dyer did,

and rovers have many more overseas players, and much fewer homegrown players than Leeds, and what should be expected of an SL club

I still think the fact that the team that are held up as the pinnacle of RL home grown development won the league with 9 overseas born players in their squad.

Wasn't too long ago FC were regaled for having a team full of english players, yet they are now scouring oz land for a back up half back.

Clinton not got it? Made more meters per carry then any other prop in SL bar Morely.

Clinton, Galea, Newton, Webster, Dobson would all find an NRL club fairly easily if they so wish (wouldn't get as much money), just like the likes of Fitzhenry and Tandy have after leaving us. FFS even Byron Ford made his way into the NRL, just messed it up with personal issues.

Lovegrove will play NRL before he retires imo, will turn out a good prop.

He has a thing about missed tackles. Used it to run down Jake Webster until I pointed out that Clinton 'Turnstile' Toopi was worse.

I havent looked at the stats, they've just looked ordinary whenever I've seen them, especially Clinton and a few on here would probably go along with that. If these blokes were that great you'd be a hell of a lot better than you are. I could be wrong, the point was merely observational.
